"haneul, could we meet uhm, now?" sunghoon asked from the other line, voice much hoarse and hinting his tiredness. she lost no time in agreeing, wearing her shoes and coat with her mom sparing some looks of worry. "you fine?"

"just...heeseung. he needs some help with his essay and I'm off to help him, I'll be back shortly." she explained, as the woman gave her a nod before she heard the door slamming.

"what happened just now?" the man approaching her asked, curious of why his daughter was in such a rush. "heeseung." she simply replied, him nodding while taking a seat in one of the chairs.

"so, what took you so long?" she sat next to him, placing the cup of coffee in front of her husband, as the man gave her a sincere smile, the one she had grown to love for the past three decades of married life.

"guess who's back."

as haneul skipped her way down the road, she bumped into jungwon out of pure carelessness, the boy eyeing her up and down before grinning. "never seen you running this fast, guess it's gonna rain."

"good morning to you too, wonie. I'll be off to meet sunghoon, and don't you dare tell mom or else I'll cut off any relationship with you." a chuckle. "could I possibly betray my friend?"

"keep this up then. bye." tip-toeing, she planted a kiss on his cheek as she kept going her way, the boy being left standing there, cheeks growing red and heated.

"I'll be off to meet sunghoon~ it's not like I care, do I?" he mocked, hands stuffed in his pockets as he sped up and soon found himself in the lee household, pressing on the doorbell and waiting for the tall boy to come down.

"took you long enough hee. did you hear the news?"

"hey!" haneul exclaimed, taking the boy by surprise as he stood up from sitting on the bench she once used to visit alone for comfort, yet had long forgotten it for he became her own comfort.

"hi." he replied, as she wrapped her arms around his waist and nuzzled her head on his chest. "you should lend me that hoodie one day, or else I'll steal it by myself."

"go ahead, besides I won't mind going broke and naked just for you to have all the things you desire." her fist met his chest, slamming it against it as he faked the pain. "you're such a drama guy sometimes, I hate you for that."

"and you love me for what?" "for you are you." she said, booping his nose as she let her lips rest against his, eyes closing as both immersed themselves to the feeling of their lips moving in sync.

"so, was there anything you wanted to tell me? it seemed rather important through the phone." she asked, brows creasing in worry, as the boy chuckled with a hand running through her long hair.

"this is─" he hesitated, for he didn't know how to bring this up. all this night, he's been trying to find the right words to bring this up to her, without shocking or scaring her.

he was afraid of opening up, and he's never done such a thing in his life. it was always him, his mother and his ice skating shoes. no one knew how the life of the seventeen year old ice skater was behind the scenes.

but he trusted haneul with all his human being, maybe she could help him out in some way, by giving some useful advice or just hugging him and telling him that everything's gonna be just fine.

and, to be honest with himself, he wholeheartedly preferred the latter.

"this is?" the girl repeated, as he lead her to the bench and sat her down. at this point, she was worried sick, and he haven't even made a prologue or something.
