Chapter 25: The Frenemy

Leon's (POV)
I couldn't believe how that in the space of 15 days, so much can happen. It's been 15 days, and I'm lost without her. How will I be able to get through the rest of my life without her? I needed to think, so I went to the only place I could. Our special place. When I got there, I began talking aloud to her.

Leon: Hey my love, I can't stop thinking about you. I miss you so much. I don't know how I can survive without you in my life, our lives. At the police station today, they told me that you were well aware of who had k-killed you. When I heard that, I thought it was Tomas, so I went to go and check it out for myself. It wasn't a good idea because he ended up asking me to let him help, but I don't know what he's real agenda is. I just feel I'm to blame. I'm sorry for not being there to protect you from whoever hurt you. I'm sorry for not letting you come with me when you asked. I feel like that was the moment you were hinting at me for help, but I didn't see. I'm just really sorry for letting you down.

Suddenly, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and was stunned by the person I was looking at.

Lara: Hey, It's been a while.

Leon: Lara. Um hi. Yes, it has indeed.

Lara: How are you doing?

Leon: I'm um...

Lara: Sorry that was a stupid question. I heard what happened to Vilu. I am truly sorry for your loss. I know we weren't the closest, but no one deserves what happened to her.

Leon: Thank you, I appreciate it.

Lara: Mind if I sit?

Leon: Um, okay.

I looked at the horizon for a bit before she starting speaking to me.

Lara: So, do you want to talk about it?

Leon: Not really, no.

Lara: That's okay. Why don't we change the subject? I heard you have kids, is that right?

Leon: Yeah, we have twins. Their names are Lia and Liam.

Lara: Yes, as well as another one that was on its way, correct?

Leon: How did you know?

Lara: It's kinda all over the news...

Leon: What!?

Lara: Yeah, it was broadcasted 2 hours ago. When I saw the news, I came to look for you. I remember that you and Violetta loved this place back in the day, so I decided to give it a try and look here.

Leon: Well, you found me.

The tone of my voice was a little too harsh, which made her upset.

Lara: I'm going to rather leave you.

Leon: No, stay please. I'm sorry, I'm just really frustrated with everything that's been going on lately. I came here to try and talk to my wife, how stupid and crazy is that, right.

Lara: No, it's not crazy at all. Losing someone you loved so much is difficult to get through. It's worse if you're trying to get through it alone, so don't torture yourself like that.

Leon: Are you sure you're Lara?

Lara: Haha yeah, same old Lara, with just a bit more maturity that came along the way.

Leon: You look great.

I smiled at her as she blushed. First time I forgot about everything and just put a smile on my face. We have never connected that way before, but it felt so good.

Lara's (POV)
Leon was looking at me in a way that he's never looked at me before, I kinda liked it. I began to blush as he smiled at me.
