"Can we still do this even after you debut with your new group?"

Clark's sudden question caused a change in the mood. It also made Wonyoung upset after hearing it. She hits him without notice, surprising him.

"Ouch! What is that for?"

He asked. Instead of an answer, he was given a glare by her before she went back to her phone, leaving him clueless.

"What's wrong?"

He asked again softly, hoping to be on her good side, but he was completely ignored by her. Even after both of their drinks and food arrived, she still kept on ignoring him and his questions for the rest of their stay in the cafe.

"It's almost five; let's go.

He asked. To his surprise, Wonyoung stood up and went straight to the door. He still hasn't figured out why she was upset. He sighed in defeat and followed his friend.

"Wonyounga, tell me what's wrong?

He asked. He held her shoulder in the hopes of getting her attention. He's relieved because Wonyoung finally turned around to see him.

"I hate you."

She said before turning his back against him and continuing walking.

"I know that you're upset, but I want to know why."

He whispered to himself before he ran up to her. After walking for five minutes, they arrived at the bus stop. Still, Wonyoung isn't talking to Clark, making him anxious about it. He retraced all that he said in the cafe and realized what he had done wrong. He glanced at him, saw that she was on her phone, and decided to send her a message instead.

"I'm sorry, okay, I wasn't thinking earlier."

Wonyoung read the message that Clark sent to her. She then looks up at him and sees him give a smile. He mouthed "sorry" before caressing her hair.

Wonyoung's heart beats hard, and his sudden movements make her feel something different from what friends should feel for each other. She can feel her face burning, and she's finding a way to escape the situation. Luckily, her bus arrived, saving her from being caught blushing at Clark's actions.

"Clark, I'll get going. Bye."

She waved her hand. She immediately hopped on the bus and went to the seat on the other side.

Meanwhile, Clark smiled after seeing her act cute. He's not stupid to not notice Wonyoung blushing and acting weird right as she was about to hop on the bus.

"I like you; I hope you feel the same way too."

He said. Right after that, his bus arrived, and he hopped on to go home.

Next Day...

It's Sunday, but Clark woke up early. He's so used to his body clock that he always wakes up early, even if it's a holiday or a weekend. He went out of his room after he finished his morning routine. He saw his mom fixing his dad's tie before leaving.

"Why is dad early, mom?"

He asked.

"He said that it will be a busy day for the company, so he has to go there early."

Her mom answered. Clark nodded, grabbed the remote, and turned on the television to watch something. It's too early for the reality and variety shows to be aired, so he figured he'd just scroll through his Twitter timeline and maybe find something interesting.

He reached for his phone, which was on the glass table in front, and unlocked it. He immediately opened the Twitter app and began scrolling through his feed.

He came across a tweet that caught his attention.

"Rumors spread that former IZ*ONE members Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin will debut next in a new group under their new agency, LSM Entertainment. There is no confirmation from either of the said artists nor their agency."

His eyes widened, not knowing that the article had already been published a week ago. He was friends with Wonyoung but didn't even ask her about it. He slapped his face, realizing what he had said earlier.

"Oh my gosh, you're stupid."

He quickly dialed Wonyoung's number, hoping she'd answer.

"Hello?"

Her voice sounded like she had just woken up.

"Sorry for waking you up."

Clark said she felt sorry for the possibility of him disturbing her sleep.

"It's okay; I have to go to practice anyway."

She replied.

"I have a question."

He said.

"What is it?"

She replied.

"Are you going to debut this year?"

His question made her speechless for a minute. She didn't expect that he would ask the question, which surprised her.

"Wonyounga, are you?"

He asked, growing impatient for her to respond.

"I don't know when, but the company says we will debut this year."

She sighed in relief after answering his question. Their conversation became quiet for a few seconds before Clark broke it with an apology.

"Again, I'm sorry about yesterday."

His words were full of sincerity. He felt bad about what he said yesterday after knowing that she was going to debut this year.

"It's fine, Clark."

She answered.

They continued talking about things that friends would talk about and decided to end after 30 minutes or so because Wonyoung had to leave for dance practice. Clark apologized to her again before hanging up. He puts down his phone on his side and tilts his head upward, resting it on the sofa.

"I should not have asked her that question."

He sighed, scolding himself for doing it.

"I should make it up to her."

He said. Even though Wonyoung tells him it's okay, he knows that he still hurts her after saying it.

"I'll do my best to bond with her until she gets bored of me, so we won't have any regrets after she debuts."

He added.

Clark's innocence will expose him to the problems that may arise when people give and receive too much of something they need. If there is too much of something, it will disrupt the equilibrium, which causes problems you didn't ask for.
