One week later...
Clark and Wonyoung still has not talked about what happened one week ago. So Yujin had devised a plan to set the two up and force them to talk about it.
Clark was in the rooftop, sitting on top of the stone hedges. He was just there spending his break time alone because it's quite obvious that Wonyoung doesn't want to hang out with him right now. He then got a message from Yujin saying,
"Where are you?"
His head tilted, wondering why Yujin asked his whereabouts."
"Rooftop, why noona?"
He replied. After that there's no more reply from her which he then again thinks is quite odd but still shook it off. He then put his phone beside him and began admiring the view of the buildings that can be seen from up there.
Meanwhile, Yujin was holding Wonyoung's wrist dragging her towards the stairs. Wonyoung had no idea where they were going but she has no other choice but to stick with Yujin because of their current situation with Clark.
Arriving at the rooftop, Yujin looked around to find where Clark is. Turning her head to the back area of the rooftop, he saw him standing on top of the stone wall.
"Clark! What are you doing?"
Yujin shouted. Wonyoung was quick to turn her head around when she heard her unnie shout. Clark turned around and saw the two girls running towards him.
"What are you doing up there?"
Yujin asked again panting, recovering her breath from all the running she did earlier.
"Nothing, I'm just bored and is thinking for ideas about some things."
He replied. Wonyoung was just standing there doing nothing. She had her head down, so Clark wasn't sure if she's really there or not.
"Okay, get down there."
Yujin said. He obliged and slowly went down from the top of the stone wall to the floor.
"Now, no one's leaving the rooftop until what you guys have is settled."
Yujin said before leaving. She left the two up there while she waits in the stairs.
After Yujin left, the atmosphere became silent. Not one of them where talking, both of them were trying not to look at each other.
"How were you?"
Finally, the silence was broken after Clark spoken up.
"Fine, I guess."
She replied. Her voice was a bit gloomy, Clark then assumed that maybe she's still thinking about what the confession. He nodded to her response before breathing in and out deeply.
"I'll go straight to the point. About what happened last week—"
He was cut off when Wonyoung immediately said something.
"I know, and I'm sorry I can't reciprocate your feelings."
She was looking into his eyes, whilst saying those words. It was double tap for Clark, getting rejected and actually feeling the rejection.
"I know, I knew it since then but I still confessed."
He said.
"Then why?"
She asked.
"Because it's better to try than regret not trying."
He said forcing a smile from himself.
"Will it be awkward for both of us if we remain awkward after this?"
Clark was surprised that Wonyoung asked that question. It was a second chance he never expected but he's pretty sure that there will be adjustments and more lines will be drawn.
"No I guess, you made it clear that you don't like me and I'm okay with that."
He said. She smiled after hearing his response.
"Well then, let's go? Class starts soon."
Her jolly self came back after the issue was solved. It might be a fast talk but it took them for a week and might be even more if Yujin had not intervened.
They walked to the stairs and saw Yujin sitting waiting for them.
"Are you two okay now?"
She asked. Wonyoung nodded and looked at Clark who also nodded and smiled.
"Okay. Let's go! You guys have five minutes until your class starts."
Wonyoung and Clark started running down to their floor. They are on the rooftop and they have a lot of steps until they arrived on the right floor.
Yujin chuckled and walked down the stairs slowly taking out her phone.
"Are you really fine with it?"
She sent a message to Clark, confident that he'll answer later when he reads it.
Later in the afternoon...
All classes has now ended, Clark is outside he door way waiting for Wonyoung to finish fixing her stuff.
"So did you read my message earlier?"
He felt a tap on his shoulder which made him turn around. It was Yujin asking him a question.
"Yes."
He answered.
"Is it an answer to the my question now or the question from the message?"
She asked, not getting what he meant.
"Yes for both."
He replied. Yujin was surprised with his answer. She gave him a doubtful look not believing what his response.
"Don't give me that look."
He said avoiding her gaze. She kept on wearing that look and showing it to Clark until she gave up.
"Uhh fine, I'm not okay with it."
He answered in annoyance. By the time Clark answered Yujin, Wonyoung was already there and she heard what he just said.
"What is it that you're not okay with?"
She asked Clark, blinking her eyes.
"Uhh, I- uhh."
He was completely caught off guard by her sudden appearance.
"He was not feeling well."
Yujin intervened. Clark's eyes widened surprised about what she answered. With it being far from what they're actually talking about.
"Really?"
She turned towards Clark wearing her worried expression.
"Yeah, kinda."
He went along with it, in hopes of not getting caught.
"Well we should leave now so you can go home and rest."
Wonyoung said tapping his shoulders. They left the classroom and left the building as well.
"See you tomorrow and rest well okay?"
Wonyoung said waving her hands goodbye to Clark after their company van had arrived. Yujin also waved her hands to clark before she entered inside.
"I'll train myself to be happy with what you gave me until it doesn't hurt anymore."
He thought before waging his hands in return.
