One month later...

Clark kept his promise to himself that he would do his best to bond with her whenever they were given the time and opportunity. They would go on friendly dates with Yujin, sometimes just the two of them. It's okay for Wonyoung because she doesn't have any meaning for all the dates they have together, at least for her. While Clark had been controlling himself from stepping beyond the line that both of them draw between themselves.

Clark is alone inside the instrument room on their campus. He's sitting in front of the piano, blankly staring at its keys. He's deep in his thoughts, thinking about what he can do with his friend Wonyoung for the last few weeks of their academic year.

"I can meet her during summer break."

He told himself, unconsciously pressing some keys on the piano. He was happy with what he said, but then he changed his expression.

"But it's not guaranteed that we'll be able to meet."

knowing that she has a high chance of debuting this year."

He sighed. He closed his eyes in the hopes of making his mind relax. He started playing a melody that he had first thought of.

"Oh, I like you."

He started singing along to the song that he was playing. It's one of his favorite songs in many of IZ*ONE's songs. The lyrics of the songs that came out of his mouth were filled with emotions that he had been keeping to himself. It felt like he was in a music video where every line corresponds to a memory of him with Wonyoung that is playing in his mind.

"I like you. I like you."

He sang sincerely, imagining he was confessing to Wonyoung with his mustered courage and a strong mind that would withstand the pain that he may feel after risking his friendship with her. Clark was so indulged in his singing that he didn't know that someone was watching him play and listening to him sing.

Meanwhile, Wonyoung is on her way back to their classroom after talking with Yujin. She told Clark to go to their classroom first, as she had some important things to talk about with her. Not long after, she arrived in their classroom and saw how few people were there doing nothing but talking. She noticed that Clark and his bag weren't there. So she approached one of their classmates to ask about his whereabouts.

"Yoojung, did you see Clark go in her?"

She asked.

"He did, but he left right after Ms. Kang said that afternoon class was free."

The guy replied. She was surprised by the news and also by what Clark did.

"Thank you."

She thanked her classmate before she went out of the classroom.

"Did he leave already? What's the deal with him?

She pouted, walking towards the main hall. She is disappointed that he didn't tell her that he was going home already. She took out her phone and was about to call him, but stopped halfway through after realizing what she was doing.

"Yeah, what's wrong with you?"

She stopped walking, also mentally slapping herself to come to her senses. She hid her phone in her pocket and continued walking towards Yujin's classroom.

On the way to Yujin's classroom, she heard an amazing voice singing their song from the instrument room. There are little to no students left in all of the classrooms along the hallway she is currently in, which magnifies the noise coming out of the semi-soundproofed room. Amazed by the person's voice, she went closer to see who was behind it. The room has no windows, and the door isn't see-through, so she has no chance to take a sneak peek at the person or persons singing and playing the piano.

Wonyoung opened the door slowly, minimizing the noise to prevent it from disturbing them. She had her back facing the inside, which prevented her from knowing the person or people inside. After turning her back, she stood frozen after seeing who the person was.

"Clark?"

She said it in her mind. He hadn't noticed her yet because he had his eyes closed. She had her eyes completely locked on him.

"He sounds so amazing."

She said, admiring her friend's talent that she's currently witnessing live. While listening to him, she also remembered how fun it was to record the song with her members. She can't help letting a tear escape her eyes after reminiscing about her days before the group disbanded.

"Forever...."

"With you."

Clark finished singing. He opened his eyes and was surprised to see Wonyoung standing there watching him. Wonyoung turned her back and tried her best to wipe her tears away to hide them from her friend. He stood up after seeing a glimpse of her teary eyes right before she turned her back.

"Are you crying?"

He asked.

"No."

She lied and still has her back facing him. He waited for her to finish wiping herself, pretending to believe what she said.

"You have a very nice voice too, Clark."

She said this, diverting the subject to his voice.

"Is that why you cried?"

He chuckled.

"I didn't cry."

She said this before turning around. He has his handkerchief out in case she might burst out crying again.

"Be honest, did you remember your members after you heard me sing?"

His question was so direct that it made her give up hiding it all and burst into tears. They were standing face-to-face and Clark didn't expect that Wonyoung would hug him. He was surprised, knowing that it was their first time hugging. He doesn't want to take advantage of her current state, so he didn't hug her back. Instead, he caressed her back to help her ease the pain that she's currently experiencing.

"That's okay, Wonyoungiee; cry all you want. I'm always here for you to listen to your burdens and accompany you with your pains."

He said this while still caressing her back to make her feel encouraged.
