It's been five minutes, and Wonyoung has finally subsided from crying. She's now realizing what she did to Clark's chest. She becomes embarrassed and is now shy about lifting her face from his chest.
"Feeling better?"
He finally spoke up after giving her ample time to cry out the filled-up emotion inside herself.
"I am thanking you."
She said.
"But can you close your eyes for a second?"
She added. Clark was confused as to why she asked him to close his eyes, but he still closed them.
"Are your eyes closed already?"
She asked.
"Yep."
He answered. Wonyoung slowly detaches her face from his chest and takes a step away from him. She then turns around, letting her back face him.
"Are you done?"
He asked, still with his eyes closed.
"You can open them now."
She answered. Clark then opens his eyes and sees Wonyoung facing her back against him. He figured she must be embarrassed from earlier and was avoiding his eyes, so he let her be. Neither of them uttered a sound, making the atmosphere silent, which drove Wonyoubg to wish for someone to save her from her state.
Her wish came true when the song "As We Dream" by IZ*ONE played, which surprised her. She remembers it's her phone's caller ringtone and begins searching for her phone in a rush. Clark saw what she was doing and found it cute. He just stood there, watching his friend struggle to find her own phone in her pockets.
"Hello?"
She finally finds her phone and answers the call.
"Right now?"
She glanced at Clark, who mouthed "what" while tilting his head.
"Okay, I'll be there."
She ends the call and grabs her bag near Clark's before inviting him to leave.
"Let's go."
She said.
"Already? Why?"
He asked, getting his bag that was on the chair.
"Unnie called; she told me that our teacher called and told us to go to the company much earlier."
She explained.
"Okay."
He said. They left the room and began walking towards the front gate to meet with Yujin. Right as they stepped out of the room, Wonyoung tapped Clark's shoulder to get his attention.
"Clark, can you please keep it a secret?"
She said. He doesn't have any clue about what she's talking about and asks about it.
"What do you mean?"
He asked.
"Earlier, when I cried, please don't tell it to Yujin Unnie."
She said. Clark nods his head and gives her a reassuring smile.
After a couple of minutes of walking, they finally arrived at the front gate, where they found Yujin already waiting for them.
"You guys are finally here."
She said.
"Unnie!"
"Noona!"
Both called at the same time and gave her a smile. Yujin smiled at Clark while she hugged Wonyoung.
"See you tomorrow."
Clark said, leaving the two behind. They followed his movements with their eyes before going the other way, which led to their company.
Five hours later...
Clark has all of his activities and homework done. With nothing else to do, he decided to help his mom cook and prepare dinner.
"Mom!"
He called. His mom is already in the kitchen, planning what she should cook for dinner.
"Yes?"
His mom answered.
"Should I help prepare dinner?"
He asked, getting a hold of one of the ingredients.
"That would be handy."
His mom replied and handed the ingredients to him. He gave a smile and began washing the vegetables and the spices that would be used for cooking. They spent quality time preparing for dinner. Clark cooked spicy sweet and sour chicken while his mom cooked vegetable soup and some other side dishes.
"What time will dad go home?"
He asked his mom while washing his hands.
"Your dad already texted that he's on his way home."
Her mom replied. Clark nodded and began preparing the table for dinner. After preparing for the table, he decided to go quickly take a bath to wait for his father to come.
"Mom, I'll just shower quickly before dad arrives."
He told his mom, who agreed, and then he went to his room to shower. He spent a couple of minutes inside his bathroom before going out all groomed and fresh. It was perfect timing, as the doorbell also rang, which means his dad finally arrived from work. They had dinner together and talked about how each of their days went.
They finished dinner, and Clark is now on the terrace of his room. He's enjoying the night sky while listening to music.
"I really like you. I really really like you."
His assigned ringtone for Wonyoung sounded like it was interrupting the current music he was listening to. He took his phone and answered the call.
"Hello?"
He said.
"Clark! I have great news!"
"A joyful Wonyoung" was said on the other line.
"You sound happy; what is it?"
He chuckled.
"Me and Yunin Unnie's debut date is confirmed!"
She said. It's obvious that she's filled with joy; her dreams of performing in front of a crowd are finally happening again.
"Really? That's great!"
Clark said. He tried his best to hide his true feelings, which paid off. He pretended to be happy for her, but deep inside he's sad, knowing that if she happens to debut, then it'll be hard for the both of them to hang out without damaging her reputation.
"Have you finished recording your song?"
He asked.
"Yeah, we finished recording earlier and just got home."
She said.
"Really? Did you tell your parents about it?"
He asked.
"I haven't."
She replied. He was surprised to know that she let him know before her parents. He became hopeful that maybe there's something that Wonyoung is feeling for her, and he felt confident about it.
"Why?"
He asked and hoped he would hear the answer he wanted to hear.
"Do you really need to ask that?"
She said. A smile formed in his face, thinking that his assumption was real.
"It's because you're my best friend; that's why I informed you first."
