Sinner 2. (The Sequel)
"Aight, baby." He reluctantly grumbled, looking down into my eyes.
"Whatever you want, I'a do it." Was all he said and I raised my eyes in shock.
"You want me to leave this shit alone, you want me to leave this game? I'a do it...

I laid in bed, glancing out of my ceiling to floor windows as the sun began to set. My tv was off and I sat there quietly, reading A Bed of Roses. I was zoned out in the best way possible and I couldn't be happier in this moment.
Startlingly me, my phone rang and I slowly grabbed for it, still trying to focus on my book while I did.
"Hello." I answered, finally ripping my eyes away from the page.
"Hey, GG." Mila's voice came through the phone and I smiled wide.
"Hey, cousin." I spoke excitedly, putting my book down completely.
"How you doing, boo? I haven't heard from you in like a week so I decided I'd call you before going in to this stupid store." She went on, referring to my grandma's corner store and I smiled to myself.
She was still working the same job and of course I missed her but I couldn't be happier to be here instead of there, seeing those raggedy customers and nosey ass, drama-filled neighbors.
"I'm fine. Just reading, looking out of my window." I went on bragging about my nice view like I usually do when we talk.
"Oooo, bitch. Let me see. FaceTime me real quick before I go in this hell hole."
"You know I love your house." She went on saying and I got up while I FaceTimed her so I could show her the view like I usually do.
She answered quickly and I flipped the camera, letting her take in the LA life as I pointed my phone directly at the windows.
"Oh my god." She sighed deeply and I saw the look on her face. I could tell she wished that she was here with me.
"I love this view, GG."
"I'm ready to say fuck it and come live with you." She went on saying and I smiled to myself, flipping the camera back onto me.
"I wouldn't mind." I expressed to her, sitting back down on the bed slowly as I placed a hand on my stomach.
"Yeah, I'm going to come out there again soon. We all miss you, cousin. Me, Lani, Angel and Tone all sat on the steps last night talking about you." She cooed.
"I know. I miss y'all too." I expressed to her as I poked my lip out.
I really did miss my family and I missed home but being here gave me a new sense of peace. I'd been here two years since all that drama went down and Abir and I lost our baby. I was in a broken place and I had to leave whether people wanted me to or not.
