I opened my eyes to a bright room as I slowly sat up, groaning from the pain I felt below.

"She's up." I heard someone say and I looked over seeing my auntie, my maw maw and Mila all sitting in the chairs beside me.

"Hi, baby." My maw maw as they all looked at me.

"What's going on?" I asked, instantly remembering what had happened before, realizing I was now in the hospital.

Clutching my now soft belly, Mila looked at me with sympathetic eyes as the hospital's room door opened and Lani, Angel, Kann, Tone and Ms. Johnson all came waltzing into the room.

"Hi, GG." They all spoke softly to me as I laid there confused.

All I could remember was them telling me that Abir had gotten arrested and a pool of blood ending up on my room's floor.

Breaking me away from my confusion, the room's door opened again and a doctor came walking with a clipboard and a laptop in his hands. He looked at everyone politely before he looked over to me, giving me a warm smile.

"Now that you're awake Giselle, I'm Dr. Pilopee, I've been here all night with your family. Running tests on you."

"How do you feel?" He began to ask and I shrugged, not knowing how to feel in this moment.

My stomach and lower abdomen felt sore but I didn't think anything of it. I was too confused and I really didn't even want to be here. I hated hospitals.

"What happened? What's going on?" Was all I asked, not even answering his question.

"Well-" He started but stopped, looking down at his clipboard as he sighed softly.

"After running those test I just told you about and conducting an ultrasound.." He trailed off, sitting down in the chair as everyone seemed to be awaiting his complete response.

They obviously hadn't received any information either.

"I'm so sorry to tell you this, Ms. Youngblood-"

"—but you've had a miscarriage due to extreme stress levels. Your blood pressure as well seemed to be extremely high but we were able to get it under control with a few prescription medications."

"Outside of that.." He continued but I'd completely stopped listening to him now.

My heart dropped as I realized what he'd just said to me. He'd just told me that I'd lost my baby.

My baby was gone.

"What?" I said to more to myself as he stopped talking all together and looked at me with sorrow in his eyes.

I closed my eyes slowly as everyone's mouth seemed to drop at this information we'd just received and I just couldn't believe this was happening to me. I never thought that this would happen.

"But-" I started but stopped, tucking my lips.

"I didn't even get the chance to meet him. He didn't even get the chance to meet me." I broke down, clutching my stomach furiously now as I laid there crying my heart out.

"I didn't mean to hurt him."

"I was going to be a good mommy." I sobbed as Mila came over to hug me and I bawled into her chest when she did.

My baby boy didn't even get the chance to be born. All because of some stupid fighting and bullshit that didn't need to happen.
