"(Y/n)! Who's your friend?" Lisa asks when you walk into Pinku. Bradley looks a bit perturbed by this question, but you know more than anyone else that Lisa is just curious because you've never brought anyone into work with you.
"This is Bradley!" You chirp, giving him a pat on the back. You're not going to out him or anything, but you do need to think of something quick. "Uh, he's been away at his grandparents' house for a while and he finally has come back."
"Oh, it's nice to meet you then!" She smiles at him. She seems pleased when he gives her a small smile back, just to be polite. "I'm Lisa, and the rest of the people you'll meet here are Kelly, Heather, and Yao. I think they're in the back, though."
Heather and Kelly come barreling out of the break room, both of them holding a piece of paper. "(Y/n)! Thank God you're here!" Kelly wheezes before going to the table closest to you and slamming the papers on it. "All of us drew our personal ships with Deku and we need to know who has the best ship with him!"
You blink and look down at the sets of art in front of you. None of them are signed, you guess that it's for it to be more fair to the contestants. "Did Yao participate?"
"No," he calls from the kitchen.
You hum... all of the drawings are beautiful, you have to admit. The one on the left is of Midoriya riding on Todoroki's back with a shy expression on his face. The one in the middle is of Midoriya sitting on Bakugou's lap with the blonde looking at the 'camera' with a possessive look on his face. Last but not least, the one on the right is of Mirio and Midoriya holding hands on the beach, looking very happy with each other's presence. "They're all great, but I'm afraid that I'm going to be biased since I know the show..." You admit.
Kelly looks to Bradley, who's leaning against one of the walls and twiddling his thumbs. She waves him over. "Hey, you! Come over here! We need a tiebreaker!" She calls him.
He flinches at her voice, but nods and walks over before peering at the drawings. You have a feeling that this might not go as planned... His cheeks bloom into a rosy color and he points at the art with an accusing finger. "A-Are these men? Together?" He asks with wide eyes.
"Yes!" Heather chirps with a dreamy expression on her face. "Boy's love is such a great thing, in art and otherwise. Even if it's looked down upon, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. One day, with our art, we can convince everyone that loving your same gender is completely normal."
He gnaws on his bottom lip, taking her words into consideration. He's still blushing wildly at the art, showcasing what he desires for love but still feels guilty about, but it really seems like he's thinking about it. After a moment, he points to the picture of Midoriya and Mirio.
"Aw, man!" Lisa and Kelly groan, their heads in their hands because they know they have lost. However, Heather looks very proud of her accomplishment.
"You have good taste, my friend!" She compliments Bradley, patting him on the back heartily. "Can I ask why you chose mine? I'm curious!"
"O-Oh, well..." he rubs the back of his neck. "The one with the red and white-haired guy, they don't seem comfortable with each other... the one with the angry-looking guy looks like there would be too much jealousy and not enough trust... but the one with the guy with the funny eyes, they seem happy together..."
You smile slightly. Even though he's having issues with his own self identity, you admire how he's able to pick out healthy attributes of a relationship pretty easily. If that ship was your favorite, you won't say, but you like that he thought about it so hard.
"So who won?" Yao asks, coming outside with a tilt of his head. You notice how Bradley won't look him in the eye.
"Me~" Heather cheers, a smug little grin on her face. Yao only responds by rolling his eyes with a snort.
