When you get home, you find a note telling you to clean up the house left by your mom. You let out a sigh, annoyed at how she doesn't even bother helping you at all. It's not like you're in this house by yourself or anything!
You dip into the kitchen, ready to arm yourself with dusting tools, but you find that you've been beaten to the punch! Bradley is already fishing through the bottom cabinet for the cleaning products. Upon seeing your feet close to him, he looks up and smiles a bit at seeing you. He finally grabs two cloths and hands you one. "How about you do the top floor and I'll do the base floor?" He asks.
Thank God for this angel of a human being. You know that if you were to be on your own, this whole house would take forever! You didn't expect Bradley to want to help, but you feel forever indebted to him. You take the cloth gingerly. "Thanks. I'll be upstairs if you need me!" You give him your gratitude before jogging upstairs.
You plug your headphones in and get to work immediately. You get on the tips of your toes, spraying the surface of your dresser. You begin to wipe the copious amounts of dust off of it.
"Dead I am the one, exterminatin' son~ Slippin' through the trees, stranglin' the breeze~" You sing softly to yourself, swinging your hips to the rock song.
You walk to your computer desk next. "Dead I am the sky, watchin' angels cry~ While they slowly turn, conquering the worm~"
You begin to bounce along to the beat, not quite cleaning anymore, but instead opting for dancing. "Dig through the ditches, and burn through the witches, I slam in the back of my Dragul—AHH!" You scream at the sight of an uninvited guest in your doorway, watching with an amused expression on his face.
Kenny is leaning against the frame with his arms crossed on his chest casually. "So you're a maid and dance even when you're not at work, huh? I never would have guessed," he teases you, eyeing your legs in particular.
"Kenny," you sigh before taking your headphones off and setting them aside. You place your hands on your hips and give him a rather disappointed look. "How did you get into my house? Please tell me you didn't break in, or I swear to God..."
He lifts his hands in defense. "I didn't break in, (Y/n). That blonde guy downstairs let me in." There's a brief moment before his smile turns sort of sour. "By the way, who is he? You never told me you had a boyfriend."
"I don't," you shrug, continuing to clean as to get rid of this awkward tension. It doesn't quite work. "He's just living with us. He came from a pretty bad situation and we're helping him out."
"... Has he tried anything with you?"
You have to resist the urge to laugh. "God, no! Kenny, not everyone sees a girl and wants to jump her bones immediately!"
He hums, but in a sense that he doesn't believe you. He walks to your bed and crawls on top of it, his face in your pillow. "It still smells like you still," he comments. He moves his head a little so his cheek is pressed up against the fabric. His eyes meet yours once more. "'S he gay?"
"It's not my place to say if he is or isn't..."
"Okay, he's gay," he concludes with a smug grin coming upon his face. "I was scared for a second that he'd take you away from me or something... guess I have nothing to worry about!" He looks pretty happy when he comes to this conclusion.
You whack him on the head with your dusting cloth. "I don't belong to you, you know. No one can take me away if you never had me~"
"Oooh, I like it when you play hard to get," he wiggles his eyebrows, causing you to scoff quietly.
