You hum to yourself as you put the notebooks you don't need into your locker. It's oddly quiet, which is a bit odd considering your circle of friends... You wonder why they haven't come around? You shut the door to your locker when you're finished, and you nearly jump out of your skin at the sight of a girl that was waiting for you. "Ah! O-Oh, hello..."
She looks oddly familiar, but then it hits you. It's that Lisa Berger girl that the girls were talking about that day at the mall! "(Y/n), right?" She asks, but it seems to already know the answer. "I have some advice for you. You shouldn't get too close with Wendy and the other popular girls. It's for your own good."
You furrow your brow in confusion. You tilt your head and decide to press her further. This is coming out of nowhere. "Um... may I hear your reasoning for you telling me why I shouldn't be friends with them?" You ask tentatively. You don't know this girl at all, yet she's already giving you advice?
"They're a bunch of two-faced skanks," she spits. "They'll be kind and sweet to your face, but they'll talk a bunch of crap about you behind your back. Trust me, I would know more than anybody else." She slings her bag over her shoulder, giving you another look. "Watch out for yourself, (Y/n). You're going to need it."
You watch her go, your eyes wide and your mouth slightly agape. What the fuck just happened and why are you suddenly being pulled into other people's drama? You were literally just minding your own business!
You huff, feeling pretty damn exasperated from the interaction, and are on your way as well. It's not your business whether she and the girls had their own problems, or if they continue to have problems or not. You just really don't want to deal with the bullshit.
You step into your English class, holding your books close to your chest. A balding, mustachioed man, presumably your teacher, glances up from his computer and gives you a kind smile. There is a little sign on his desk that says 'Mr. Thompson.' "Welcome in, please take one of the books." He uses his hand to refer to the materials in question. Obediently, you take one.
Fahrenheit 451, huh? I've heard about this... apparently, it's a favorite among dystopian genre enjoyers.
You look back up, trying to find where to sit. You blink in realization half a second later, realizing that Craig is sitting near the back of class and is staring right at you. You tense a bit, becoming a little nervous. His expression looks normal, but you really hope that he and the others aren't upset about you dating Kenny...
You sit next to him, setting your notebooks on your desk. "Hey, Craig." You bite down on your bottom lip - you don't know why you're feeling guilty all of a sudden. Maybe you should have told everyone sooner... but Craig and Tweek shouldn't be too torn up about it, right? They have each other... "Um. I hope you're not upset about... you know."
"You and Kenny? I'm not," he shakes his head. He's already flipping through some of the pages of the book that the class will be reading, obviously disinterested with the material already. Unbeknownst to you, he's not upset with you at all... it's Kenny that he's pissed off at for snatching you away in the first place. He's going to give him a piece of his mind when he gets the chance, and you best believe he'll throw a couple punches, too! "How long have you guys been together?"
You let out a breath that you didn't know you were holding. He's not upset with you, that's great! "Ah, he confessed to me about a week and a half ago... so it's been about that long. He was very sweet about it," you rub your cheek, blushing slightly as you speak. The way the two of you poured your hearts out to each other that day... It's kind of embarrassing to think about!
"Oh. Congrats, then." He offers you a (fake) smile before pointing at the book that everyone will be reading. "I don't know about you, but this book looks boring as shit. I think that I would rather sleep than listen to the teacher drone on and on about this damn thing."
