Back at Sams house
"Damn Rogers seems a little shady." Said Sam placing a cup of cold water in front of you. You drew a smiley face on the wet, condensed cup. "I noticed that too," you took a sip. "There's definitely something he's not telling us."
"It's Steve," you sighed "He'll come around eventually. In fact I bet your the first person he's gonna tell what's really up."It was noon. It was slowly getting dark. Steve gave us all a section to cover. Yours was the first 3 floors, Nat's was the next few floors, Wanda's was the outside, Tony's was the top three floors, Rhodey was supposed to guard the lab where the 'thing' was being kept, Steve's was the back of the building and Vision was assigned to guard the roof along with the helicopter zone.
Sam was the only one who wasn't specifically assigned anything. He was just ordered to fly around high up and tell us if something seemed out of place. "Pigeon" you thought.
You were all given earpieces so you could communicate invade something goes wrong. And let me tell you a lot of things could go wrong.
You definitely weren't scared. No. You were great at fighting. You've been training since a very young age. You didn't do anything specific like Martial arts or Kung Fu, you were just taught to fight. Like a soldier. Yeah that seems right. A soldier. After you turned 18 you were sent to the Red Room for a short period of time.It was a nightmare. That's where you met Nat. She was the best out of all the girls. She really stood out.
You remembered the first time having to fight her. You didn't even last ten minutes. You laughed to yourself, when suddenly your thoughts were interrupted by Sam's voice through the earpiece.
"Cap, I caught something and it's coming your way."
You snapped back to reality.
"Looks like a man on a motorcycle. He's moving really fast."
"Roger that." Cap said. You heard him strap on his helmet. "Careful Steve," you said "I'll be there if you need me, just give me a call."
"Alright everyone get into their positions! Rhodes keep an eye out for anyone who gets close to the lab"
"Aye aye captain."You were worried for Steve. What if something happened. You should probably go. No. He said he'll give you a signal. What if he doesn't.
"Wanda!" Your earpiece rung. "Wanda I need you to on the south side of the building make sure no one gets past the gate. Y/N I need you on the ground floor with Natasha."
You grabbed your knives and slid them into your black leather sheaths. You took your rifle in your hand and tucked an extra small gun into your boot.
Quickly, you ran to the fire exit and slid down the railway onto the ground floor. You opened the door they lead to the main hall. "Steve where are you?" You pressed your earpiece.
"I'm next t-"
"Steve!"You ran to the right where the entrance was. "Nat where are you? Did you find Steve?"
"Working-on-it-"
You could hear her fighting.
"Shit," you cursed under your breath as you heard a gun cock behind you.You slowly turned around with your hands in the air. 'Damn it' you thought 'so much for helping Steve'
A tall man dressed in all black was standing in front of you, with his gun inches from your face. He had wide shoulders and messy brown hair that fell in front of his face. The most fascinating thing about him was his left arm. It was made of metal with a bright red star on it. 'The Russians' you realized. Was he Russian? You looked at his face.He wore a black mask and black goggles. He looked like a fly. 'Haha fly' you smiled at that thought.
Damn it Y/N! Focus!
You were stuck. You had to think fast. Something you weren't so good at.
"Nice goggles," you said. Quickly you flipped your hand over and knock the gun out of the soldiers hand. You grabbed the gun and tossed it as far away as possible.
You started running to the exit to hopefully distract the man from getting to the lab where Rhodey was. You ran as fast as you could with the rifle in your hands. You looked back.
'Damn it!'
'Stupid! Stupid Y/N!'
You pressed your earpiece " Steve we've got a problem."
No answer.
Fuck
You ran back in the same direction hoping to catch up to the guy with the metal arm. There he was. He got into the elevator. You madly ran down the hall just in time to hop into the elevator with the tall man. "Yeah," you thought "This is where I die."
The man punched you right in the stomach. You were now doubled over. The lunch had caught you off guard and you cursed yourself. The man however was relentless.
He swung another punch towards your head. Instinctively you blocked the punch and countered with an upper cut to the mans neck. He threw another punch to the side, where your ribs were.
You heard a faint crack.
The man watched you stagger and hit your back on the elevator wall violently coughing.
