5 minutes later you were finished with the dishes.
You dragged your feet towards the living room and pretty much collapsed onto him letting out a heavy and tired sigh.
Your head was on his lap. He moved your hair out of your face. You closed your eyes.
"Does cooking exhaust you?" Bucky joked.
"No, it doesn't. Pretending that everything's fine is exhausting."
"Is it not?" Bucky tilted his head.
You sighed in response.
"You really shouldn't take moments like this for granted. Never know what the future holds for you."

You bit your lip. He was absolutely right, you shouldn't and you had the past to prove it.
You sat up looking Bucky in his icy, yet warm, blue eyes. "I feel like I'm in a dream. None of this feels entirely real, it feels like I'll wake up at any moment and everything and everyone will be gone."

He raised his eyebrows smiling. He took your hand and playfully put it on his face, just like the last time you said something similar about feeling like you're in a dream.
You laughed. "See I'm real." He chuckled.
"Bucky," you complained "I was tryna be sadly honest with you." You rolled your eyes. He leaned in touching his forehead against yours.
"I can't waste the rest of my life seeing you sad."
"Well you're going to have to get used to it."
"I feel like this is the moment where I should kiss you. But I really feel like I should ask for your permission."
You chuckled lightly. "Usually I'd just lean in and kiss you, but I told you. I like it when you do first."

He didn't say anything else. Just tilted his head to the side and kissed you. You closed your eyes and relaxed against him. Your bodies pressed together heatedly against the backrest of the couch, breathing heavily as your lips pressed together. You could taste your shared breath, felt the thud of your combined heartbeat.

His lips were soft, almost silken, and pillowy against your own. You felt the soft tickle of his breathe beneath your nose, fingers carding through his hair as you breathed each other in.
His fingers traced the edge of your shirt.
"Not on Sam's new couch," you groaned through a smile. He breathed out sliding his hands back.

DING!

"And that's the oven," you smiled against him, pausing before breaking the connection. You got off and walked to the kitchen to open the oven. Bucky followed you with his gaze. When you were out of sight he threw his head back in annoyance.
"Fucking vegetables." He mumbled before getting up.

-

"Do you wanna watch a movie?" You said putting away the last dish that you washed.
"Uh if you want." Bucky shrugged.
"Personally I'm so done with movies. We might as well just sit on the couch and stare at the wall."
He snickered, nodding. "I'm glad someone said it."
"Do you wanna just go to sleep?"
His eyes wandered around the room. "Uh yeah sure."

"I can get the couch laid out if you want." You said.
"And if I don't?" He smirked.
"You can sleep on the floor." You smiled back. He rolled his eyes in defeat.
"I'm guessing you'll pick the couch," you brushed past him walking towards the cupboard where the spare sheets and pillows were stored.

"Need any help?" Bucky stood behind you.
You turned around and handed him the sheets and pillows. "Living room."
"Yes ma'am."

You unfolded the couch, with the help of Bucky, and tucked in the sheets.
It was around 10pm, a bit early for you to go to bed, but since Bucky was sleeping in the living room and your weren't going to watch a movie, you went to take a shower as soon as you finished laying out his bed.

After taking a nice and warm shower you changed into some comfy clothes and went to say goodnight to Bucky.
He was sitting in an upright position and reading the book you gave him earlier.
"Hey," you said leaning on the wall of the entrance into the living room.
He turned around and his face instantly lit up "Hi." He was adorable.

"I just came out to say good night."
"You going to bed already?" He put his head back looking at you upside down.
You shrugged nodding "Well yeah."
He squinted "Can we watch a movie?"
"Wha- you literally said you were as done as me with watching stuff." You laughed.

He frowned "Lonely without you."
You stared at him for a couple of seconds with an unamused expression on your face.
Then you rolled your eyes and motioned with your head backwards and walked away.
Bucky grinned and got up, switching the lights off after him.

You tied your hair up in a loose bun and plopped down onto your bed. Bucky was next to you reading again.
"You literally just asked to hang out with me and now you're reading a book?" You raised your eyebrows. He put away the book on the night stand "I like being around you, I like your company. I don't always have to talk to you to enjoy your presence."

"Now you're making me look bad."
He smiled. "On the other side of things we should probably talk about something, otherwise you're going to fall asleep."
"How do you know I'm the one who's gonna fall asleep? What if you're gonna fall asleep."
"It is physically not possible for me to fall asleep while looking at you."
You blinked "I'm going to take that as a compliment..."

You hopped off the bed and reached for the lights switching them off. You got under the covers and snuggled in next to Bucky.
"Buck move," you pulled him down lower so his head was at least close to your head level.
You hugged him from the side feeling safe, warm and cozy next to him. He put his arm around you and squeezed you closer to him, you loved it when he did that. You smiled to yourself in the dark, knowing that he can't see you.
