You fell asleep on the couch with Sam while watching Fresh Prince, Sam's favorite.
The next morning Steve greeted you with oatmeal.
"Steve you know I hate oatmeal," you whined.
"Oatmeal is great," he began his lecture "Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth! They contain so much important vitamins and minerals."
"Also they reduce the risk of heart disease," Sam added taking a bite.
"Wha- You too Wilson?" You looked at him offended."You can add berries and honey if you like." Steve passed you the honey and some strawberries.
"Thanks," you mumbled adding both.
"Can you get some skeleton statues from the store today?" Sam asked.
"No I can't, I'm getting my ears pierced today did you forget?" You said.
"But you already have them pierced?"
"I'm getting the upper lobe done."
"What like Nat?" Steve joined in.
"Yeah only on both sides. Funny you say that she's actually getting her rook pierced, and Wanda's getting the helix one, right here," you pointed towards your ear."Jesus and what is the reason?" Steve said in a very dad like voice.
"I don't know, I like the way it looks."
"I'm pretty sure it's a girls thing," Sam said nodding to Steve.
"Guys can get it too you know."
"Really?" Sam said raising his eyebrows.
"No Sam you aren't doing that." Steve said.
Sam shrugged taking another bite out of his oatmeal, you could totally see him getting it just because Steve told him not to.-
"Ooowwww," you whined on the couch.
"Can you shut up already!" Sam yelled from the kitchen.
"IT HUURRRTTSSS!" You yelled back.
Sam walked into the living room with an unimpressed look on his face.
"Stop whining and come help me with the cookies."
You groaned into the pillow before getting up and following him into the kitchen. You made cookies with dark brown batter and began drawing little bones with white icing.
You heard the door rattling and then Steve calling out "I'm back guys."
"Hey Steve, wanna help us draw some bones on a cookie," you said sarcastically.
"Oh these look really nice," Steve leaned against the counter, observing the cookies.
"You can go ahead and trick or treat yo' self to one," Sam said.
"Noooo Sam, not the bad puns!" You laughed."Hey stop being a jerk-o-lantern," Sam continued.
"I'm going to pass away this Halloween."
"I'm gonna get you laughin till you're coffin." He winked.
"How's the meeting?" You asked Steve, ignoring Sam's ridiculous puns.
"Uh yeah about that, the mission next week, not everyone's going." Steve said.
"What? Well who is?" You asked
"Me, Sam, Tony, Rhodey, Vision and Nat." He replied."Where's the mission?"
"Well D.C actually," Steve said.
"Lucky." You slouched.
"Don't worry it's only for two days, we'll be back in no time," Steve put a hand on your shoulder. You nodded continuing to draw little skeletons."Hey Sam can I talk to you for a second," Steve said. You didn't notice Steve motion with his head to the right, where the living room was. You saw Sam follow Steve and you found that quite suspicious, but continued with the cookies. You had two options to go eavesdrop on them, or to just stay and not bother.
You chose option two, if it was something relevant to you Steve probably would've told you. Plus you really trusted him so if he wasn't telling you something, it was for a good reason.
Steve walked back in with a small smile and Sam walked in with a completely different facial expression. You didn't understand it like at all, he was shocked but looked happy, but then there was also a bit of confusion and fear in his eyes.
He continued frosting the cookies and didn't say anything."So um, what movies will we watch for Halloween?" Steve tried to lighten the mood, and it worked. "Are we gonna do the same as last year?"
"We should definitely watch corpse bride oh and A Nightmare on Elm Street." You said.
"Friday the 13th and the Adams Family, haven't watched those in a while," Sam joined in.
"What about A Nightmare before Christmas? I liked that movie." Steve said."Isn't it like a Christmas movie?" You glanced at Sam. He shrugged "It's also like about monsters, maybe more Halloween."
"Both?" Steve asked.
"Eh I don't know."
"The director said it was Halloween." Sam stated.
"Well then we should watch it." You said.
"Yeah, yeah we should," Steve nodded looking out the window. "We should," he sang quietly.
"Steve you ok?" You asked noticing him out of focus, which usually isn't Steve at all.
"Uh yeah," he smiled "I'm gonna go take a shower." He left.
"What's up with him?" You turned to Sam.
"Uh not a clue." Sam said.
