Chapter 16: Secrets and New Love

Willow POV

I woke up feeling pain in my paw and tail but the rest of my wounds were nearly healed. Our mentors all agreed that the apprentices should have the day off so all of us were going to think of things when we all wake up. I see that Star, Storm, Honey, and Bramble were all still asleep. I quietly get up and leave the den and went to look for my siblings and Flame. Willow! I turned to see Flame coming towards me. Can you come with me for a moment? Sure I thought feeling excited. He led me to a area by the dirt place and he lifted a small fern leaves and I see they were covering a small clearing with little flowers. Where did you find this I asked in awe. I was coming to make dirt and I saw a hint of something and I lifted the fern leaves to find this clearing he answered.  We both walked in making sure the fern leaves covered this place up again. OK I said what did you want to ask me? Well he said shifting from paw to paw nervously I love... you he said you are an amazing wolf I don't mind if you don't love me back. I was taken back at this but I knew my answer was clear. I rushed up to him and said I love you to licking his ear lovingly. Really he breathed you do? Of course I whispered.He nuzzled me and said come on I bet the other are already awake. Ya I said relucent to leave here. We walked out to the fresh kill pile and saw the other apprentices waiting. She felt Flames fur brushing hers. We were talking about what we should today he said since most of you were still sleeping. The others nodded at this but she caught her siblings look saying were going to ask later what Flame was asking you really. So what should we do today asked Star? I say we could go battle against each other I suggested. The others pondered this and nodded. First lets eat said. We all got a piece of fresh kill and chatted by the apprentice den.

After we finished our food we buried the bones and walked out through the barrier. Follow us said Star as she and Storm led us through the forest. She stopped next to Storm and said this is a good place in case we have to go and hide for some reason he explained. It has everything that we need there's a river, animals comes regularly and it's perfect for training. They lifter a rock up with there paw and she saw a hole and Storm went in and said don't worry it's safe. We all went through and Star closed the hole with the rock again. The hole had a tunnel and the tunnel looked about as long as three foxes and pitch black.  When they reached the end all they could do was stare in awe as the see a small waterfall and a river connecting with it and there was the smell of mice around the area. There was also a big rock that all of the apprentices could fit on. They walked into the clearing and Smokey asked how about we do one on one first then we can seperate into teams of two. All of us nodded at that, So who should go first I asked. How about Ocean shows us how he attacked Bear. There was a course agrements to that. Ok and who would I do this to? Me said Smokey stepping up. Ocean nodded at that and they both got into postion. Ocean crouched down and Smokey stood looking like he had a wolf pinned. Ocean rushed at him and jumped on his back barreling him over and started hitting his underbelly with his claws sheathed and then lightly bit his paws and his tail then Smokey over powered Ocean then he got off and they both shook dirt from there pelts. I did that but with much more damage Ocean said. We all looked awed I bet I wasn't much better. I went up to him and licked his ear and said that was amazing and we all agreed on that. OK said Storm me and Bramble next. They both got into postion and Storm rushed and Bramble who jumped over the running Storm and turned and lightly bit into his tail and they tussled on the ground for a few minutes till the broke apart breathing hard. Truce said Bramble. Truce Storm agreed both sitting back down. They continued this for a few times. Flame beat Star, Smokey beat Storm and Star beat Honey now it was me against Bramble. We both crouched trying to see where either of us will go. I rushed up at him and three feet from him I used my back legs and jumped with all my might I heard many of the apprentices gasp and I landed square on his back and we tussled and as soon as we broke apart and I swiped lightly against his leg causing him to stumble then I ran and rammed them with my side causeing him to tumble over my side. Ocean signaled for a stop and we both let our muscles relase. Bramble came up to me and said that was a really impressive jump he said. Thanks and I went over to the other apprentices and said how about he go hunting so we won't go back empty handed then we can eat some fresh kill ourselves. They all nodded and by the time the sun was setting the had at least five mice and Willow caught three doves as well. They walked down the tunnel with there fresh kill and they closed it off and agreed that they would do this again one day. 

By the time they reached camp it was dark and they ate their share of fresh kill then went into the apprentice den and I layed down next to Flame and Smokey. I told Flame " Love you and I nuzzled him and he breathed I love you to. Then the comfort of sleep came over me with the sound of I love you still on my mind.
