***Holly's POV***

My feet pounded against the sand as the sun disappeared beneath the waves. Pan was running up way ahead of me with his super human speed. I gave up trying to keep up with him, it was impossible. My body was tingling with excitement at the thought that we may be close to bringing Emerald back to us. If my theory was right, then everything would be ok again, but if I was wrong, Pan would be crushed. My legs were burning from the effort when I suddenly slammed into something hard and fell backwards onto the sand. I looked up and saw that I had smashed into Pan's back, he simply crouched beside me and put a finger up to his lips and pointed to a piece of driftwood that had washed ashore. A seagull was perched on the twisted wood.

"How do we know if it's the right one?" Pan whispered to me.

"Well, how many seagulls have you ever seen on Neverland?" I almost called him stupid, but I didn't want to die. He looked down and me consideringly and raised his eyebrows.

"None." He said.

"Exactly," I whispered back. "We just have to devise a trap to catch it." I thought momentarily and began drawing plans in the sand with my finger of an intricated trap that involved vines, sticks, and a big rock when Pan abruptly stood up. He raised his hand towards the bird and glowing green rings appeared around as it squaked loudly. Pan flicked his wrist and the bird was brought directly in front of us and hovered at eye level.

"Or you could just do that." I said exasperatedly as I brought myself to my feet.

"Talk you stupid bird." I said angrily. It looked at me with beady eyes as it cocked it's head.

"How about I rip out your eyes?" Pan said nonchalantly to the bird. It's cold black eyes widened with fear.

"How about not." It said in a strange voice.

"That's more like it," I said "Now tell us, what the heck are you and what did you to Emerald?" I had to confirm if my suspicions were correct.

"I know not what you say, nor what you seek, no knowledge shall pass through my beak." I raised my eyebrow in confusion and looked at Pan, his face held the same expression as mine.

"What have you done to Emerald?" Pan said through clenched teeth as he brought his face closer to the bird's. He clenched his hand and the glowing rings tightened their grip on the seagull. Pan smiled as the bird was clearly uncomfortable. The bird reached out and bit Pan's cheek. He loosened the grip on the bird as he stepped away and brought his hand to his face. His cheek was bleeding slightly and I had to stiffle a laugh at the smug expression the bird wore.

"Where is she now? Do you know? Alas the gem that shines so bright, prepare to say farewell to her tonight." My mind started to calculate all the possivle meaning of "farewell". I was really starting to hate this bird.

"Pan, you don't think that farewell means..." My voice trailed off as Pan's voice began.

"What...Have...You... Done... To... Her?" Each word that he said was dripping with venom. His face had contorted into anger that was masking fear.

"Her thoughts remain, her past gone, hurry to beat approaching dawn." The bird seemed to mock us and Pan's anger increased with each word it said.

"What the fuck is it saying? Holly, what the fuck is it saying?" He turned to me with desperation in his eyes.

"Well, ok, let's just try to decode him, like a riddle." I started to try to piece everything together when I heard Pan say something along the lines of "screw this" as he began choking the bird.
