Darker Than You Know ( A Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) Fan Fiction)

-Chapter One_

I was scared, terrified actually. My father was once again screaming at my mother. I feared for her safety; I couldn't live without her. I couldn't sit by and let him hurt her again; I had to do something.

I gathered my few shreds of courage and began my way into the kitchen, the source of the yelling. The sound of my father's voice growing louder and louder as I neared the kitchen.

"YOU FILTHY WHORE!" He screamed. "YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!"

My mother cowered in the corner. She stared up at me, her green eyes, so similar to my own, were filled with fear. She needed me, I was strong enough for the both of us.

"STOP." I hollered with all my might. The room grew quiet. My hands began to sweat as the silence slowly ate away at me. My father slowly turned to look at me. His icy cold gray eyes pierced into mine, staring at me with hatred.

"What was that?" He said. "Speak up Little Emerald."

He spoke to me as he would a child. Even using my childhood nickname, Little Emerald. My breath caught in my throat as I found myself unable to speak.

"So you want to fight me?" He said, as a cold smirk came on his face. "Come on, fight me then." He urged. He always craved conflict.

"Get away from Mom. Don't you dare touch her."

I straightened my posture, hoping to look confident. My hands were shaking as I balled up the material on the bottom of my shirt.

"You think you're tough, Little Em? You can't save even yourself now." He discarded my presence and turned his attention back to my mom. He struck her hard across her face, causing her to slump to the ground.

"MOM!" I screamed as I ran to crouch next to her.

"Mom!" I felt a hand grab my neck as I was wretched away from my mother's motionless body.

"Time for some fun, Em." My father snickered as he dragged me down the hallway to my room. My eyes didn't leave my mother's slumped body as I was pulled away. I searched for any sign of movement. Any sign that she was alive.

"NO, STOP!!!" I screamed in a panic when my mind understood what was happening. I wrestled against him, clawing at anything my hands could find. His strength was much greater than my own. My attempts to fight him were futile.

He tossed me to floor roughly. Lying on the floor, I knew my last defense was words, the only weapon I had at my disposal.

"Please, stop," I pleaded as hot tears rolled down my cheeks. "Please, Daddy."

He sneered at me. My pleas having no effect on him, he shoved his foot hard against my stomach, causing me to choke in pain. He lifted me by the front of my shirt and punched right back to the ground. He was going to finish me off this time, this would be the end. I wasn't ready to die; I had to believe help would come.

"Em!" I heard my mother's voice calling to me from the kitchen, desperate and raspy.

My father leaned in close to my face. "Excuse me for a moment."

I could smell the alcohol on his breath. He turned away form me, walking out the door to finish hurting my mother. I had to fight for her, to save her.

I tried to stand, but my legs could not hold me. My body was in too much pain to move. My limp body slumped to the floor, my last hopes slowly dying. I lay crying near my window. My head fell to the side, facing the view of the starry night sky.

The stars were so beautiful, glistening through the surrounding darkness.

Looking up at the stars ignited my hope once again. I knew help would come, help always comes to those in need. I believed that help was coming.

"I believe." I said in an inaudible whisper as I looked at the stars.

The air in the room shifted and wind outside the window picked up speed. The windows burst open in a rush of cool air.

Something was coming.

I love Robbie and I think he plays Pan perfectly. I'm very excited to write this story. HELL, I'm excited to write about Pan!!
