Chapter 26

*Holly's POV*

"Here shadow thingy, here creepy black figure of my nightmares. Come here you stupid thing." I had been walking in the woods for what felt like an eternity. Due to my extremely limited abilities, I felt I had no choice but to get Pan's shadow to get Emerald from wherever she was. Pan may be giving up on her, but no way in hell was I going to do that. She was my best friend and no way was I going to let her be taken from me by that boy Charlie.

"Ok, shadow, I really have no choice here. Your person, or Pan, or whatever, is making a huge mistake. He can't let Emerald go and I really need your help. You must be reasonable. I just don't know what else to do." I shrugged my shoulders when the wind shifted and the sky darkened around me a little. I looked up and saw the shadow approaching me and I was more than just a little scared.

"Alright." My voice was shaking and I tried to stand like I was confident.

"Emerald, that girl that Pan is obviously in love with, but he just won't admit it, has been kidnapped. He refuses to save her because of some weirdo Pan reason. It's ridiculous and he will regret it if he loses her forever. So, I'm asking you to fly off and get her. Please, I can't lose her, and Pan definitely can't lose her." It seemed to consider me for a moment and then it cocked it's head slightly and began to fly away.

"Wait! Are you going to get her or not! Come back!" I sighed and began walking back to camp. I silently hoped that the shadow was doing what I had asked.

*Em's POV*

Tears spilled out of my eyes as I was walked towards the roof of Charlie's house by his father, well, Aladdin. The gown swayed from side to side as I stepped up the staircase. The stars were shining bright above my head. My eyes landed on Charlie, he smiled brightly me as tears continued to fall down my cheeks. I felt like my heart was being ripped straight from my chest. My oldest friend was betraying me, and I was being forced to marry someone who wasn't Peter. Aladdin and Jasmine seemed to be completely oblivious to my reluctance to marry their son. This couldn't be legal.

"You look absolutely gorgeous." Charlie was so happy, but he must know what I was feeling.

"Charlie, you once told me that my heart was mine and I shouldn't let anyone steal it from me. Don't make me do this." My voice was weak and I felt broken.

"That's just the thing, Emerald. I'm not taking it from you. Over time you will see that you are going to give it to me. It will take some time, but you will understand eventually." I took a step back and stared incredulously at him.

"Are you delusional? You must be crazy. I'm not going to let you brainwash me." My feet went to run, but Charlie grabbed onto my wrists with a firm grip.

"Ow, you're hurting me, stop. Right now." I raised my voice and continued to pull against him.

"That's not going to happen, Little Em." My breath inhaled sharply. He called me by the name my father used to call me.

"How dare you?" I said darkly.

"You're wrong, you know? I won't grow to love you over time and give you my heart, it already belongs to Peter." I struggled against him and tried to claw at him.

"Will you stop fighting me? You're stuck here and I'm not going to let you go!" The winds picked up and I pulled against him.

"Stop it, Charlie. I hate you!" I screamed at him and his parents seemed aghast at the scene playing out before them. I leaned down and bit Charlie's arm and he punched me in the face. I fell to the ground and Jasmine let out a scream. A screech filled the air and Pan's shadow came flying down. Charlie had hopped on top of me and was punching my face and stomach. The shadow launched him off me and over the roof. It turned to me, I lifted my hand up and we soared up into the stars. The shadow and I flew across a million stars until I saw Neverland appearing out of the darkness. I remembered trying so hard to leave that place, but now I found my self returning to it, returning to Peter. The shadow dropped me on a rock and flew off without a returning glance.

"Thanks and all for the ride, but you still need to work on the landing!" I stood up and dusted the dirt off my dress. What I wanted to do was rip the blood stained dress off of myself, but reuniting with Peter while I was naked would be a little awkward. I picked the skirt up and took off at a run to find Peter.

*Holly's POV*

I had seen the shadow yesterday, but I didn't see Emerald anywhere. I figured it must have chosen not to find her. I would just have to find a different way. While I was focused on Emerald, the rest of the island seemed to be doing something else. I hadn't been talking to anyone and I had no idea what was going on. People were running everywhere and nobody would stop to answer my questions. I ran into the forest, and hopefully away from any possible problems. I ran until my legs gave out. I knelt to the ground by a tree, and there was voices? Yeah, those were definitely voices. I peeked around the tree I was leaning against and saw Pan and three women who were strapped to a tree. To say I was confused would be and understatement. I had never seen adults on Neverland, there was something strange happening. I took another peek and saw a very dark haired woman about to hurt Pan as he was lying on the ground.

"Hey, get away from him!" I had bolted out of my position to stop them from hurting Pan. He may be downright rude, but he had become my friend. The dark haired woman waved her hand and sent me flying back into a tree. I felt my body and head smack against the tree and the darkness encompassed me.

*Em's POV*

It would have been very kind if the shadow had actually dropped me in a place that I was familiar with. I had once again gotten myself lost, I was starting to remember why I had left this island. I came to a small clearing and saw a slumped figure in a red shirt with dark hair... Holly.

"Holly?" I ran to her and flipped her onto her back. Her head had a huge cut and she was bleeding all over.

"Oh hell, Holly, come on. Please don't die on me. Please Holly!" Her eyes fluttered open slightly. She looked at me and smiled, my tears fell onto her face.

"You're going to be just fine! We're going to get you all fixed up and we're going to sit in Pan's treehouse and talk about boys, like we always do." She looked up at me with such happiness. She tried to speak, but blood poured from her mouth instead of words.

"No, Holly, please. You've got to hold on. For me. Please, stay." Her body jerked and I picked her head up and placed it on my lap. I stroked her hair and wiped away the tears that began to fall from her eyes.

"Don't you worry. This is nothing. It's hardly a scratch." I rocked back and forth and wrapped my arms around her. I let out a sob and hugged her to me. She slowly brought her hand up to me and wiped a tear that was rolling down my face. Her hand fell and the blue of her eyes dulled.

"Holly, no! Come back! Please NO." I screamed and hugged Holly's body to me one last time. My body shook with sobs as I cried over the dead body of my best friend.

Hello everyone. This was a very strange chapter for me to write. I just had issues with killing a fictional being??? Things are heating up aren't they?
