Something was coming.

Something didn't quite cover it. A dark figure, no not a figure, a shadow, floated through my window. The wind swirled around and whipped my hair at my face. My tears falling from my eyes met the cold air surrounding me.

My heart began to beat faster and faster as the shadow reached out to me. It reached it's hand to me and I looked into the figure's glowing eyes. My head reeled as I was unsure of what to do. I didn't know if I should fear the shadow, or be thankful that it was saving me.

It was saving me.

In that instant I made a decision. I tentatively placed my hand in the shadow's and prayed he wouldn't hurt me. He lead me to the window, I was entranced by the light of his eyes. As my feet reached the edge of the window I looked at the world beneath me. The streets below were silent and completely still, everyone was happily sleeping in bed.

The houses under me began to shrink as the shadow lifted me higher and higher. The tears on my face continued to fall, but I smiled. I smiled because I felt so free and... alive. It ended when a scream pierced my ears. It wasn't any scream, it was the sound of my mother screaming.

I looked down and realized I had left my mother behind. How could I have abandoned her?

"Mom!" I couldn't see, but I knew my father was hurting her. "MOM!" I struggled against the shadow's grip, desperately reaching down.

"Let go! Please, stop! My Mom, he's hurting her. He's going to kill her!" I sobbed in realization of what I had done.

The shadow looked at me and only increased his speed towards the stars. I would live and my mother was going to die because of my selfishness. The guilt began to eat away at me as I was encompassed by the night sky.

The stars no longer looked beautiful to me, they never would.

**Peter Pan's POV**

I saw my shadow set her gently down onto the shore of the beach. It was odd, the shadow is never gentle. The girl didn't move and my curiosity overtook me.

I strode across the sand towards her motionless body. I found myself strangely intrigued by this girl lying on the sands of Neverland. I looked down at her face, her skin glowed pale under the moonlight and her brown hair was sprawled around her face.

I knelt down beside her and gently brushed the hair off of her face. Her face was round and her lip was curved upward ever so slightly into a nearly undetectable smile.

"Wow." I breathed out. She possessed a different kind of beauty, she was flawed, and that made her... better. I felt a pull in my stomach, a foreign feeling.

"Pan, we..." My head darted up and I moved away from the girl with impossible speed towards Felix. An understanding expression crossed Felix's face as he saw the girl mere yards away from us.

"She's fair." Felix said while examining my girl.

My girl? She was just a girl.

"She's not important, Felix. We need to stay focused." Anger and jealously mixed within me as I watched Felix stare down and the immobile girl. His gaze snapped back up to me as I turned him back to face the jungle, leaving the girl behind us.

Against my will, I turned back to catch one more glance of her laying under the stars. That feeling returned, it unsettled me. A sudden rushing feeling of anger came over me,realizing a simple girl was distracting me. I had no time for distractions, even the beautiful kind.

My hands clenched into fists at my sides. Fury boiled inside me, replacing the pull I felt toward her. I couldn't let anything get in the way of my plan, especially the girl under the stars.
