***Emerald's POV***
"Wait, what?" I laughed nervously.
"I said, I'm Aladdin's son." I hoped that he was joking, but he was completely serious.
"You mean, like THE Aladdin? The street rat Aladdin turned Prince Ali Ababwa?" I rubbed my temples and turned to take several steps away. I groaned slighly and I heard Charlie laugh.
"Don't you dare laugh at me! This is a lot to take in. It's not every day that a girl finds out that her best friend is the son of someone I thought only existed in a costume at Disney World. How could you not tell me this, Charlie?" The smile on his face disappeared quickly at the hurt on my face.
"Umm. Actually, my name isn't Charlie." I stared at him blankly.
"You're joking right?" He clearly wasn't.
"My real name is Charagh. I just used Charlie so I wouldn't stand out." He kicked the ground lightly with his foot as he hung his head in shame.
"Is it ok if I still call you Charlie?" I spoke in a tiny voice and looked at the ground just like he was. The safe and comfortable feeling of being with Charlie now was filled with awkwardness. It almost seemed that I didn't even know him anymore.
"Of course you can." His voice was low and steady and I shook my head lightly. My eyes were still fixed on the ground. I heard his footsteps come closer to me and then his feet came into my view.
"Hey, look at me." I slowly brought my eyes up to his face. I looked into his warm brown eyes and that feeling of comfort returned.
"Emmy, I'm still me. Remember that time we went hiking?" His beautiful smile caused my lips to instatnly curve up.
"And you got us lost because you were holding the map upside down." I laughed a little but my somber expression returned.
"Why didn't you tell me? We're so close, I just don't understand why you didn't trust me." I took a step back and he grabbed onto my hand.
"Would you have really believed me? I mean come on, how crazy would I have sounded if I just told you I was the kid of a fairytale character and that I had a magic carpet." I thought for a second, considering what he said.
"I probably would have asked you what kind of drugs you had been smoking." The me that lived back home in Washington would have never believed a word he was saying.
"So that's why." He shrugged his shoulders and began folding out the wrinkles in the carpet.
"Wait a second," I said, "Aladdin is Arabic, right? So shouldn't you have an accent or something? Actually, why in the world were you in the United States." A million questions started to form in my head.
"Emmy, I promise that once we get out of here, I will answer every single question that you have. I can imagine that you have a lot. Now, hop on." He sat down on the carpet and held his hands out to me."
"What? I'm not getting on that thing." He dropped his hands and sighed.
"Come on, don't be scared. I've used this thing a thousand times. It has the ability to travel across worlds, it can get us out of here." He stood back up and pulled me over to it and sat me down in front of him.
"You mean you're taking me home?" I turned around to face him.
"You don't have a home to go to anymore, Emmy, you're Mom, she's..." He stumbled to form the words and I turned back around.
"I know." I said. "So where are we going?"
"To my home, my real home that is. It will be safe there, nobody here but you knows who I really am." He wrapped his arms around me and the carpet slowly began to rise off of the ground.
***Holly's POV***
Pan and I had been sitting on the rock for what seemed like forever. The silence was so awkward. Neither one of us really had anything to say besides comments on how warm it was on Neverland tonight. I exhaled deeply and hummed lightly to myself. Pan stared at me and I stopped humming. We both looked back to the black and white whisps of light that had for the most part not moved. They floated left, right, up, and down, but they never seemed to actually move anywhere.
"Hey Pan, I was wondering. Did something ever go down between Em and Felix. Cause sometimes it's like he-" My words stopped when I saw the death glare that Pan was giving me.
"Geez. Sorry. I didn't mean to upset you, its just you see I really like him and all, but I don't think-" I stopped when I realized that Emerald's memories were gone.
"Pan! Where did they go?" I shouted. He stood up quickly and turned in circles searching for the lights."
"Look! It's over there! Hot damn, it's moving fast!" I pointed in the direction that the lights were moving. They flew up into the sky into the direction of the ocean.
"What is that?" I saw a dark shape that the lights seemed to be following.
"It's Emerald and... NO!" He screamed angrily.
"What is it?" I was becoming very anxious.
"It's that Charlie. I should have known." He looked down and seemed to be trying to come up with a plan. I looked back up to the figure, I squinted my eyes and I could clearly see Emerald and the boy that Pan said was called Charlie. I could remember Emerald telling me about him, he was her best friend. The lights were nearly to her and I could feel my stomach fill with anticipation. They were nearly there, I felt like I couldn't breathe. What if it wasn't her memories? What if the seagull lied? It could kill her. Pan was looking up at her in fear and then back to the ground. The lights were seconds away, and I couldn't do anything to stop it.
"PAN, DO SOMETHING!" I screamed as tears welled up in my eyes. His head shot up quickly when a boom sounded throughout the night and a green flash shot across the sky. The brightness blinded me and Pan and I both fell onto our backs. I squinted and the flash dulled as a scream echoed loudly. It was Emerald.
"Charlie. YOU ASSHAT!" I looked up and saw Emerald beating her fists against Charlie, trying to get out of his grip.
"PETER!" She screamed so loud I imagined the entire island could hear her. "PETER, HELP ME!" I saw her struggling, she was trying to jump from the carpet, but Charlie was stronger than her. I looked to Pan but he didn't move.
"Do something!" I said angrily when I saw his shadow appear from the trees. It was flying quickly to the carpet.
"PLEASE, HELP ME! PETER!" Emerald continued screaming as the carpet increased its speed. It was too fast for Pan's shadow. They were getting away! I dropped to my knees and cried. I could hardly hear Emerald's screams anymore, they were so far away. Eventually, the shadow returned without Emerald.
"She's gone." I whispered to myself. "We almost had her back. We were so close."
"There's nothing we can do about it now." Pan said blankly.
"What do you mean? You're Peter Pan! You have power, you can get her back!" I stood up and poked him in the chest. How could he just say that he was giving up?
"You don't understand! There isn't any time left. There's something I have to do. If I go after her it won't matter anymore." He was obviously trying to mask his pain.
"You're right, I don't understand." I turned away from him and stared at the sky.
"When I look at the stars, I see her eyes." I glanced at him from the corner of my eye, he was crying.
