You almost had to fight your way out of the hospital bed Tony had put in the lab for you when you woke up. With your memories fully intact you knew that there was no medical reason why you needed to be laid up in bed with Tony right at your side.

Leaning against the counter the Avengers were all gathered around in the living room kicking back beers and celebrating in your return but like most things that concern the Avengers all of the celebrations were always cut short.

Tony had a hologram pulled up of Ultron, which apparently was an experiment gone wrong on his and Banner's part. While you were unpacking for your fake new life the team was battling a whole new enemy but received two new allies in the process. Wanda and Pietro, a young set of twins with well, enhanced gifts. You could tell within moments that they just wanted a family, somewhere to call home and the compound was perfect for them.

The Avengers were founded on misfits coming together to try and create something extraordinary.

Bucky handed you a mug of tea while you watched the screen. Ultron wasn't a normal villain, his robotic features and ability to hack into any computer within a second made him beyond dangerous.

"He could get nuclear codes." You looked at your father. "If he is hell bent on wiping out humanity why hasn't he done it yet?"

"That's what we don't know."

~~~~~~~~
Bucky sat with you outside on the balcony, you had a blanket draped around your shoulders while you over looked the city together. You leaned your head over onto his shoulder sighing with content. You couldn't imagine being anywhere else in the world but next to him. He grabbed your hand and brought it up to his lips kissing the back of it before resting it in his lap.
"Y/n" bucky started but you already knew what he was going to say. He hadn't stopped muttering apologies since the second you got your memories back.
"B if you say that you are sorry again I'm throwing you off the roof." You glanced up to him causing him to chuckle.
"I'm just saying I-"
You interrupted him again by placing your lips onto his. "I already forgave you no more making amends with me." You breathed across his lips.
He smiled against your lips before you both returned to looking over the city skyline together and you nestled you head back onto his shoulder. You knew bucky would keep apologizing to you until the end of time, he carried his sins heavily even those that he made when he wasn't himself. And you'd spend your days til the end of time reminding him that he doesn't need to apologize for something the Winter Solider did.
The one thing that hadn't been discussed yet was the three little words that escaped your lips during the fight with him. You meant them with every fiber in your soul but you weren't going to be the one to bring them up.
A loud crash caused you both to jump out of your seats bolting into the compound without a second thought. Glass was shattered on the floor and all the Avengers stood around at the ready to fight. Bucky grabbed ahold of your hand as you both looked up to a red man floating in the air with a bright yellow gem in his forehead.
"I am on the side of life, Ultron isn't." The beings voice made you take a step back. It sounded just like Jarvis.
There was a moment of silence between everyone. You could tell they were all evaluating the threat in different ways but you looked into his eyes. They weren't threatening they were filled with confusion. He was scared. Whatever he was.
