What you didn't know was how bad the world truly was while you had hid out in the compound for the first month. The garbage of the world set out to sink it's claws into the innocent who survived. So what started out as you helping is hospitals and finding homes for orphans and keeping detailed records of everyone turned into something darker.

You depression was constant but you were still able to keep going each day. Finding purpose in helping others and getting kids out of terrible countries since the United Nations took down border restrictions. It also opened up the world to a lot of crime and it seemed none of the Avengers wanted to take up their old mantles. Neither did you, you didn't tell a soul of who you really were. You went by y/n Barnes., much less flashy than Stark.

But after awhile you couldn't ignore what was happening. While you and a team of volunteers were transporting water and food to a refugee camp outside Syria your convoy was taken by a militant group. Each one of the volunteers were drug out into the sand on the side of the road with their hands up while the men searched the trucks.

You kept your eyes down to the ground like all of the other women. One of the men went from person to person checking for personal valuables.

"Empty empty!" He kept yelling at everyone as they shakily took off watches and scarves.

By the time he got to you, Anger had started festering. For two years you had never gotten involved in any war or fight. You were just there to help people but deep down Anger was just waiting to make an appearance.

"Empty." He screamed again shoving the rifle in your face. The only personal items you kept on yourself was Bucky's dog tag with your ring around your neck and the pair of nanotechnology bracelets your father had sent you a year before. Even though he knew you weren't ready to come home he wanted to protect you the best way he knew how.

Your eyes flashed up towards his. "No." You answered simply.

The group of men immediately jumped to action trying to grab you seeing your bracelets. A butt of a rifle came towards you as if his intention was to knock you out and you effortlessly grabbed ahold of it.

"You really don't want to do this." You spoke in Arabic to the men.

But apparently they did. As they tried grabbing for you again you brushed the bracelets against each other activating you Nano suit. It was humorous when your dad had sent it to you with a questionnaire on what you liked and didn't like. It was his way of having some kind of communication while you weren't at home.

The black suit quickly covered your body, the gold inlay was a tribute to Bucky's Vibrainum arm, you just thankful he didn't make it match Steve. A billboard of a suit. You blades appeared on your back they would always be your weapon of choice but you didn't need them to defeat these guys.

Expertly you moved through the group of men laying maximum amount of damage on them without a lot of force. Your body was on auto pilot as you raced Ed a man by his neck before snapping it watching the light flicker from his eyes. It felt good. All of the pain you had kept inside you for so long was finally flowing outward.

Anger. Another stage of grief.

And the one you wanted to avoid. You were the daughter of Tony Stark. Ex-military with the super solider serum and a nano suit. You didn't want to end the world on accident because you got mad.

But here you were throwing the men around like rag dolls to feel better. When each one was on the ground not breathing you disengaged your suit and looked to the other volunteers. "I told him not to do that." You shrugged as you climbed back to wards your truck running point to get them safely to their destination.

_________

You didn't know this would awaken something in you, you spent the next several months searching out every man from the organization and snuffing them out. Going from city to city dragging these men into the deepest and darkest pits of hell. You had no remorse, every emotion that held you back was gone now that anger had festered it's way into you.
