When you woke you were neatly tucked into your bed with an IV drip in your arm.  Tony, Bucky and Steve were all at the foot of your bed speaking in hushed tones as you let your eyes adjust to the light in your room from the sun peas king though the blinds. The headache that was splitting your head was now gone and any pain from your injuries from being captured by Karpov were gone.

"What happened?" You groggily asked them while you sat yourself up in bed.

The whispered tones abruptly stopped as they realized you were awake each one of them hesitant of your eye contact. Bucky glanced over to Tony with a careful look. Something wasn't right. Even though you spend years learning human behavior it didn't require that education to know that they were hiding something.

"We think you were just exhausted, you didn't really get a whole lot of rest after you came back and-" Bucky was looking you dead in the eye and lying to you.

You could tell by his voice, the way how quickly the words left his mouth. You and Bucky didn't lie to each other, it was one of the best things about your relationship, or whatever you two had. No matter how dark or painful the truth was you both gave it to each other but here he was standing before you betraying your trust.

You cut him off, brows furrowed and a unfamiliar anger rising in you. "When did we start lying to each other Barnes?" The words left your mouth dripping with disdain. Bucky's eyes glowed with panic, Steve looked to the ground and Tony shook his head slowly none of them speaking to tell you the truth. "I don't know if any of you have forgotten but I have a PhD in psychology, I know when someone is lying to me. So you can either tell me what the HELL is going on or get out." You voice raised to an octave you had never heard yourself get to before as rage started to come over your body.

"Hey hey, calm down." Bucky's hands went up as he neared your bedside. "What do you remember about your time with Karpov?" He asked you slowly.

"Well he torture me, asked me for the code nonstop and then you guys came to the rescue." You sarcastically answered him, he already knew everything you knew.

"Did he inject you with anything?" Tony stepped forward with growing concern.

You began to open your mouth to say no but the truth was you didn't remember, you remembered being originally woken up by Karpov and the pain but then you were passed out again, next thing you knew Karpov was on the line with Tony. There were gaps in your memory.

Wide-eyed you looked to Bucky and then down to your covered legs. Pulling off the blanket you could see the cast that was once on your leg was now gone and you could move your leg. It was healed.

Then a small flash of memory crossed your mind. Karpov laughing and telling you 'tell the Avengers I said hi.' Then it all clicked, you were like Bucky, a science experiment, a super solider. Someone with a code.

The most terrifying part was you didn't know if you were activated or not.

"Get away from me." You pushed far away from them as possible on the bed. "Oh God, no no no. Karpov, he uh, he, shit, he gave me the serum." You head fell into your hands as you realized you weren't in charge of your own mind anymore.

"Hey hey, it's alright." Bucky tried soothing you. "I don't think he was able to fully brainwash you or get you responsive to an activation code."

"That's comforting." You sneered. "We are just going to play the guessing game wether or not I'm going to try and kill everyone." You threw you hands up.

"Barnes is right, if you were going to do it then it would of happened already." Tony made his way over to the bed.

"You don't know that." You shot back.
