It's been 2 months since I came back to the avengers, the missions dialled down a little but it's as exciting as it's always been. Bucky and I have been so good too.
I walk to the dinning room in silence hoping nobody knows or remember what day it is today "Happy birthday" Bucky says before hugging me from behind and kissing my cheek "shh" I say, my eyes widening, Bucky spins me around and frowns confused "I don't want anybody to know" I say with a shrug "why?" Bucky asks "I just don't feel good about my birthday" I say "does it have anything to do with the fact that Loki isn't around?" Bucky asks and I shrug "no, my life doesn't revolve around Loki" I say with another shrug "then what's up?" Bucky asks and I sigh "I just don't feel like birthdays are important anymore, not after I missed half of my life in the ice or brainwashed" I say, Bucky tucks a strand of hair behind my ear before kissing me softly
"You understand?" I whisper "of course I do" Bucky replies "you guys are very opened to PDA" Natasha says "we have no shame" I say as me and Bucky walk over to the dinning table "well I have realised that" Tony says disgusted "you guys didn't knock, you just stood there" I say "I have to knock in my own compound?" Tony asks "yeah?" I ask confused at my own words while shrugging "I just think that if there was another couple in the group they would feel the same" I say "Pepper and I do not do that" Tony says "That is because you are old" I say "You're older than me" Tony says "Mr Stark, I was frozen and I was brainwashed so technically i picked up where I stopped" I say "And how old were you?" Tony asks
"It is not polite to ask a woman's age" I say with a smirk "No really how old were you?" Peter asks confused "26" I say with a shrug "So you're still old" Peter says and I stare at him "Watch out she might throw a brick" Sam says "Sammy" I say rolling my eyes "That would be highly unnecessary" Vision says and I grab an apple and throw it at Peter which he catches instantly "Your Peter tingles are great" I say impressed "Please stop calling them Peter tingles, I don't understand why everybody calls it that" Peter says uncomfortable "Clearly to piss you off darling" I say "So if you were in the ice for 75 years" Rhodes says "Technically not" Steve says
"Did you turn 27 that year?" Rhodes says "Yeah, Steve was meant to turn 28" I say "That would make you" He says "102" I say with a shrug "So your birthday has passed?" Rhodes asks "You're awfully nosey today Rhodey" I say with a smile, Tony turns to me with a small frown before his eyes widen realising "Well" Rhodes says and I shrug "Let's just leave it at, I am old" I say with a laugh "That. You. Are" Peter says and I throw another apple this one hitting him right on the forehead, scaring him and causing him to fall off his chair "Vengeful" Wanda says tilting her head slightly "Are you going to shoot me?" I ask her
"What? No" She says "Are you sure?" I ask "Why would I?" She asks "You tilt your head when you're about to rock somebody's shit" I say "Who has taught you those terms?" Steve asks confused "that would have been me" Peter says finally sitting back on the chair "Took you long to get up again Kid" Natasha says and Peter shrugs
After breakfast I decide to go for a short walk by the lake "Why did you come alone?" Steve asks from behind me "You didn't tell anyone what today is" Steve says "I don't want to celebrate it, I guess" I say "You miss Loki" Steve says "Yes but it's not that" I say stopping and turning to Steve "Why is everyone convinced that I'm like this because of him?" I ask "I'm not upset because of Loki, I am not that dependent" I say annoyed "Nobody said you were Alexa" Steve says and I sigh "We all know how independent you are. But you should know, it is okay for you to feel upset that your best friend isn't around. I hated life without you and Bucky" Steve says and I sigh
"I don't want to be that girl that her world stops crying because of a guy regardless" I say "You're acting very weird" Steve says and I sigh "Steve, I'm late" I say "Are you meant to be somewhere?" Steve asks and I shake my head "My period is late" I say and his eyes widen "Are you pregnant?" Steve asks "I don't know, I don't even think I can get pregnant with all of the experiments I have gone through" I say "Are you having other symptoms?" Steve asks and I shrug "Steve, I" I begin to say as tears cloud my eyes "Hey, hey come here" Steve says pulling me into a hug as I cry into his chest
"You'll be okay" He whispers while stroking my back "Can you please not tell Bucky" I say "You don't want him to know?" Steve asks pulling away "Not until I'm sure about it" I say and he nods "I'll get you a test" Steve says and I nod "Thank you" I say and he smiles at me "You'll be okay" Steve reassures me "Thank you Steve, for being such a great brother" I say and he smiles "What am I here for?" He asks "Okay, I'll go get it and I'll find you" Steve says and I nod. We head back up to the compound "There you are" Bucky says smiling "Why are you smiling like that?" I ask confused "Follow me" Bucky says and I frown but do as I'm told
We enter my room and I see someone standing there with their backs to me "Excuse me?" I say, I look at Bucky who just smiles before walking away. The man turns around and my eyes widen "Oh my God. Loki" I squeal while running towards him and practically jumping on him "I have heard that you miss me" He says hugging me back, I pull away "Pft no" I lie "I have missed you too" He says smiling "What are you doing here? I thought you, Bruce and Thor were out there in space" I say confused "I couldn't miss out my only friends birthday could I?" He asks "Plus, space got boring. We have decided to stop by for a little while" Loki says and I smile brighter than I intended to
