~Next day~

Evee didn't had a good sleep this night. All she could think about was this conversation with her boss Silas and the two fishermen. Did they really catched a Merformer? And on top of that, a leader? She was on one side excited to see if the Merformers were real (since MECH was talking about them a lot since she started working there) but also felt sadness struck her heart, that this poor and rare creature will fall under a knife to be experimented on. She didn't wanted to see the gore that will await her, when they experiment on it. 

The way to college was rather quiet and for Evee, tiring. The loud noises the teenagers around her age were making was irritating for her. She wanted to blurr out everything and just hear the wind, nothing more. But it seemed to be impossible with all this noise. 
"Hey, Evee. What's wrong with you today? You seem a bit off",mentioned one of her classmates, as she walked with them together to their classroom." Yeah you have bags under your eyes...",murmured a second, pointing at the slight bags the girl had not from only working this hard but also from the lack of sleep she got the past night.
"I'm fine I just...keep thinking a lot lately about what happened last evening when I was working." The classmate who asked her if she was okay, looked worried:" Did something happen there?"" Just a conversation with my boss and two fishermen from the nearby village...they wanted to get the new specimen here today they caught last evening." 

"That's horrible..."
"Yeah, why do you even work there?"
"Don't you remember? She is a janitor there and after what happened to her mother, she had no other option."

Her classmates keep talking to one another while Evee just looked down, thinking again about the conversation she had witnessed. Was Silas really doing this? Just bringing an innocent leader of a pack into his laboratory and toture and experiment on it like he did with this Breakdown...?

~After school~

Evee was one of the first who had left the class. She was rushing out fast, since she needed and and actually wanted to be early on work today. She wanted to witness how the fishermen bring the Merformer to the lab and to actually see if this was true all along and her mother wasn't lying. Her steps were fast, while she speedwalked past the busstation she normally took to drive to her home or to the beach that was near the house she lived in. Lucky for her, MECH didn't knew where exactly she was living.

Once she had reached the building, she quickly checked through and went to the janitors closet to get ready. She had seen on her way multiple workers running up and down the hallway, they were surely preparing for the specimens arrival. Once Evee was done, she walked back out only to meet with Silas. 
She gulped. 
Did he notice her listening yesterday to their conversation?

"You shut your mouth about what you see now, do you understand." It wasn't a question, it was an order. An order that meant surely consequences, if she didn't obey to what Silas said to her. Even when she should spill the bucket even for a tiny bit.
Quietly, Evee nodded, leaving her boss satisfied enough with her cooperation." Good. Now go clean up or you will do an extra shift." Evee fled from the scene quick with her equipment and began cleaning the rooms and hallways once again. Next to that she cleaned again the tools, finding luckily no organs on them or whatever they were doing to these poor animals here.
She was so into her work shedule, that she didn't notice the group of workers running past her, almost making her fall over into a fresh water pile on a hallway she just had cleaned up.

"Watch were you're going, girl!",snarled one of the workers, making Evee's eyelid twitch a bit. But she tried to ignore the rude comment being made and cleaned the floor from the water pile that she happened to see after she was basically runned over.
She soon made her way to room 37. 
This was one of the last rooms she had to clean up every time she worked here. With its big empty tank of crystal clear water, the monitors above it and the lights, that make the water seem like it would glitter.
