That was half a year ago.
Well, a bit more to be precise. I passed my finals and I am now in my first year of sixth-form college. But not a lot has really happened.
So, after I made out with a incredible-example-of-how-hot-humans-can-be-Shawn, I got his number. Maddie, being the person I've ever met, sent it on a long journey down the pipes. So, being the lovestruck teen that I was, I resorted to social media
.... that's when I realised I didn't even have his last name. Yet, I was determined to find this guy. That meant countless hours going down people entitled "Shawn" on Facebook:
Shawn Panestal- Toronto, Canada.
Well his picture is an old man... so I don't think so.Shawn Kindel- Montreal, Quebec
Nope, his career is an tour guide.Shawn Mendes-Verified Page-Musician/Band
I think I would know if he was famous.Shawn Raegan- Vaughan, Ontario
Well last time I checked he didn't speak German? And so forth. Yep. I tried instagram, twitter and everything I could think of. I guess I just didn't want to accept that I had my first kisswith a person I had known for less than 7 hours, and it was for no reason at all. I had always imagined it being perfect, and with someone who I'd cared about for a long time, and not so spontaneous. Alice still didn't know about the encounter, and she was no longer in touch with Luke- surprise, surprise.
However, I was soon caught up in the stress that is finals and exams. Caught up enough to realise that I just had to move on.
It's now the 25th December, and I am sitting on my front room carpet with my cousins. It's snowing outside and the house smells like freaking gingerbread.
"Ellie," my cousin George wined, "Hurry up, it's your go to open a prezzie! "
We always open presents in the same way- age order. That meant that my cousins Jen, George and Isabel had all taken their turn to open a present and it was now up to me, being the fourth youngest (and now aged 16), to open mine. I scanned the pile that was littered around the tree, looking for one that stood out.
My phone kept on buzzing so I took it out of my woolly Christmas jumper. It seemed I had finally got signal and a whole load of "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" texts had just come through. Jax had somehow managed to make a snowman out of punctuation, it made my Christmas emoji filled text look pretty bleak.
In the end, I picked out a little box, wrapped in snowflake paper. I took of the wrapping paper and got a happy supprise, it was a case for my phone. I mouthed thank you to my parents before saying to my younger cousins,
"Doesn't Santa bring the best presents!"

We were now on our final round of presents, which we all open at the same time. I had saved a small present, because it looked like it had come in the post. It was white with a chunky red ribbon decoration, a bit like the ones you see in Photoshoots, and had a postal mark on the front with my address on.
I unraveled the bow carefully, and slid off the paper. Inside was a black box that was about the size of book. It had a gold "x" on the top of the box.
Prizing off the lid, I revealed the box's contents: a small rectangular package and an gold envelope. The whole thing looked really posh and expensive. I took the little present and unwrapped it. It was a perfume bottle called 'Incredible Things' by Taylor Swift. I heard my Aunt call out,
"Oh that's nice Ellie, who's that from?"
"Yeah, Yeah it is. Umm.. I don't know just yet, I'm just going to look in the envelope."
For some reason as I picked up the envelope, I felt like something was going to change. I slowly lifted the envelope fold and took out some important looking forms, a white letter and plane tickets? I glanced through the letter and dropped it in shock. My hands shook as I looked at the name at the bottom.
