I moved my hands about, all I could feel was damp grass. The faint thump of bass music signified that the DJ Booth had been fixed. I drearily opened my eyes. It was still very dark, and the only light was coming from the bonfire that was still slowly flickering. I was lying at the side of the party, away from the majority of the crowd, rested on the ground.
I don't know how the hell I ended up here, but it looks like I partied way to hard.
"Shit. Guys she's awake!"
Cameron came into my vision and crouched down beside me. He waved his hand hurriedly in by face as I gazed around startled.
"Are- are you Okay? You've been out for like 20 minutes, we carried you over."
"Yeah, m'okay ." I mumbled in reply. I lifted my hand slowly up to my head and winced in pain.
"But my head kinda feels a bit- "
"Here."
He took off his hoodie and folded it. He lifted my head up easily and slipped it under as a head rest. I felt a bit less dizzy now.
"Do you want anything, any drink or something?"
"Nah, really I'm fine. I just need to lie down for a bit, that's all."
"If your sure, I mean, I feel so bad!' He looked down at the floor."
"What for?"
More of the boys had crouched by Cameron. Except for Jack G, who if I tilted my head slightly, I could see passed out on the grass.
"You kind of were on my shoulders and like, you fell off and hit the drinks table." Cam said awkwardly.
"I'm such a dork," I laughed painfully as I reached to rub my eye.
Some of them laughed nervously, unsure whether I was joking or not. I weakly smiled to let them know I was okay.
"Best bit is, we caught it on film!" Aaron grinned.
My eyes widened.
"Oh God," I groaned.
"Wait, lemme find it." Matt took out his phone, unlocked it and started to scroll across the screen. He hummed as he scanned through his camera roll, past some random selfies from tonight and one of some girls ass?
"Ahh," he paused, " Here you go."
He tilted the phone screen so I could see. Surely enough, there I was, sat on Cameron's shoulders, giggling as Carter tried to take my shoes off. Aaron said something and I laughed, then Cameron turned round.
"Wait, no, yeah. This bit is good, the look on your face is priceless."
I had to agree, I looked in absolute shock. My body tensed and I let go of Cameron, falling backwards. He tried to grab my my feet but failed and I did this kind-of-backflip-dive-thing off of his back. Falling sideways straight into the drinks table.
I know it seems a little inappropriate, but I started to laugh. It was kinda funny. But I soon stopped, as it hurt to much."And that's how you hurt yourself." Matt grinned.
"No shit Sherlock." I chuckled.
"Well at least we know you haven't broke your funny bone eh?"
I shake my head at his joke and feel a wave of nausea wash over me. I close my eyes to steady myself.
"Ellie?"
"Yeah, still here, just a bit dazed."
I feel someone adjust the hoodie under my head. I groan and try to stretch, but I suddenly become aware of a pain in my right leg. I glance down and see a pretty nashty gash down the side of my shin. I open my eyes in surprise.
"How the hell did I do that?"
"-on broken plastic spoons!" Matthew giggled.
Instant karma.
I close my eyes and relax onto the hoodie. I listen to the faint tune of Bloodstream by Ed Sheeran.
Fragments of memories started to come back to me, piecing together like a 100-piece-puzzle the memory of what happened:
Spoons to show I couldn't see the stage.
Throwing the spoons on the ground.
Cameron picking me up.
Matthew filming.
Cameron turning.
Looking.
Recognition.
Brown eyes.
Chestnut hair.
Lazy eye.
Smile.'Never be alone.'
Shawn.
I felt overwhelmed, dazed. Thoughts were swimming all around my head. I swear I had seen him.
He was here.
Is here.
I opened my eyes."Where is he!" I blurted out.
The boys jumped, not expecting my outcry.
"Who?" They asked in chorus.
"Shawn." I say blatantly.
It was pointless, to them he was just a name. They wouldn't know who he was. He was just a singer on a stage, and not anything to do with their crazy Magcon group. But to me, he was something much more.
I sighed and held the sides of my head. All these thoughts were making me dizzy. Black spots that started to cover my vision.
What was I even doing? I must sound like I'm crazy. They must be confused, they won't know who Shawn is - or looks like - or sounds like-
My vision was getting blurrier and blurrier, darker, denser spots were crowding around my vision.
However, even with the black spots, I could still see Nash and Cameron turn and smile at each other. That's when I slipped back into unconsciousness, my eyesight fading to dark grey. But not before I heard a whisper in my ear, and felt myself be picked up by strong arms. A whisper of,
"Believe me, you'll never be alone."
