Alana slept pretty well for her first night,and when I opened my eyes hers were looking directly into mine,making me smile. Layla still slept next to me,and I got up carefully,going over to my baby girl,and picking her up. I hold her against my chest,she was so small,and she looked at Layla with bright eyes. I started to talk to her quietly,and she smiled,she was already used to my voice. She looked at me in the eyes when I talked to her,and I grabbed her small hand,taking it in mine.
" You are so cute " I say softly,and kiss her forehead,she giggles,and I feel arms around my waist. I feel Layla kiss the back of my shoulder,and I turn around,facing her. She smiles brightly,and Alana looks at her with wide eyes,looking her over.
" Morning baby " She says softly,and grabs her out of my arms. She places a kiss on the top of her head,and holds her smiling.
" Morning " I reply,knowing she wasn't talking to me.
" Mike,I was talking to Alana " She replies,and kisses my cheek. " But yes,good morning to you too " She smiles,and walks towards the door,grabbing her bag.
" Alright,ever changed a diaper before ? " She asks,laying Alana down on her blanket on the floor,and grabbing one out of a bag.
" No,but you're gonna show me though aren't you ? " I ask,and most people wouldn't want to change a stinky diaper,but I was excited,I always knew I wanted kids someday,especially with her. She showed me how,and then let me do it,I wasn't to bad,but she said I still needed some practice. She fixed her up a little bit more,and snapped her back in her little onexie,before walking downstairs with her,gesturing for me to follow her.
" How did she do for her first night ? " Her mom asked as she walked into the kitchen.
" Oh she did okay " She replies back,and sits down in a kitchen chair.
" Can I hold her Layla,please ? " Her sister Ally asks in a whine.
" Um...maybe in a little bit,after she eats " She says with a kind smile. I Walk behind her,and she hands her to me,letting me have her back. I sit down with her,and all eyes are on her and me,making me nervous. She watches everybody watch her,and turns away,hiding her face into my chest. I place a hand on the back of her head,and her small hand lays on my arm. Everybody watches in awe,and Layla takes her upstairs so she can feed her,Ally waits patiently at the table,and almost jumps out of her seat when Layla comes back down...without her.
" After a little bit Ally,okay ? She's sleeping " Layla says softly,Ally's face saddens,but she nods in understanding. Ally finally did get to hold her,but Layla showed her how,positioning her hands in the right places.
" What's her name again ? " Ally asks,holding her carefully.
" Alana " We both say at the same time,making her smile.
" That's a pretty name " She compliments,and Alana smiled,her blue eyes sparkling. Alana was a pretty name,I mean you can just look at her and know She has a pretty name,a pretty name to go with a pretty baby.
