Much to my chagrin, I have to inform that, in fact, I'm not dead.
This one is long, but I refused to part it in two parts, so enjoy. It's the last one :)
The days passed quickly when you actually enjoyed the time. It was the realization that hit Taylor when two weeks passed by without pain or glory, when normality settled in once again, when the sun shined like it was supposed to in summer and she hadn't to pretend who she was anymore. The team games continued, one week being mountain climbing, the other being swimming, that, for no one's surprise, team water won. It was fun, and Taylor only took it half seriously, her competitive side taking over from time to time, if it was just to annoy Karlie.
Their stay ended in just one week and a half, and Taylor, to be honest, hadn't quite wrapped her head around the concept of having to go yet. It just didn't seem real, that she had to go back to the life she left behind at the start of the summer.
She was in her favorite spot, the clear between trees, not far away from the cabins, where they had their first kiss, as bad as it went, gazing at the blue sky above her, while she made memory of all the events that seemed to have happened so fast, yet so slow.
The far sounds of the canteen dyed the air with the rattling of cutlery and plates, distant screams of hyperactive kids and desperate monitors. But she stayed there, sitting in the soft grass, letting the sun rays bath her now toned skin. Her hands were busy, finishing a half-made bracelet, with leftover materials from a workshop for the little ones she had to supervise the other day. With tiny ornaments, and intertwined cord, the result was being quite acceptable. She was getting much better with these small tasks, kept her mind from wandering too far away, and made her realize that her hands were way more precise than she expected them to.
"There you are" Taylor looked up, startled, to see a figure walking towards her, hands in hip bones and breathing heavily "My favorite prairie girl"
"Fuck off" Poking her tongue at her, the blonde went back to her almost done little task.
"Ah, yes, my favorite, totally polite and well mannered, prairie girl"
"Funny today, aren't you?"
"Please, when am I not?" Karlie huffed, dropping by Taylor's side with a long sigh "You offend me"
"My speciality" She hummed, frowning as she tried to knot another little blue ornament "Rough day?"
"I'm convinced Lily just wants to see me dead at this point"
"I couldn't blame her"
"Hey- That's not what my fabulous, polite, gorgeous, supportive girlfriend should say"
"What a shame then" Taylor said, finally looking up at green eyes "that I'm neither of those"
Karlie let out a laugh "Bullshit" Leaning closer, the brunette rested her head on Taylor's shoulder, grinning up at her as the blonde tried her best to refocus her attention in placing the little blue ball in its place before Karlie made her lose the thread "You are definitely all of those"
"Oh, please, you don't have to try that hard" Giving up, Taylor lowered her little project, scrutinizing the girl "You already got into my pants"
"God, and I am the one not being romantic?"
Rolling her eyes, Taylor leaned in, her forehead touching Karlie's "Shut up, smart ass"
The brunette smiled teasingly, narrowing her eyes "Make me"
