Taylor closed her eyelids, letting the light draw shapeless figures inside them. The touch with the grass was smooth, the sound of the continuous breeze shaking the trees soothing her to a semiconscious trance. Hours have passed since the speech, and today was a new day, in every sense. She was calmer, less on the edge to snap someone, less tired, less annoyed with her parents, less angry with life in general. She had slept a good nine hours, something that didn't happen since she was like ten probably. When the speech finished yesterday, anything more interesting occurred, she went back to the cabin and explored the surroundings a little bit more. She walked by the lake, observed where the youngest tenant stayed and discovered some hidden places, away from all the fuss, that is how she found the place where she was lying. The good thing about this camp was that it is ridiculously big, so find hideaways like these wasn't rare. When she was in her little wander yesterday, the trumpets for dinner interrupted her, so she went back and reunited with her roommates in the main cabin for dinner, but she kept in mind this little clear in the woods. The food wasn't especially tasty, but it wasn't bad either, or maybe she was just hungry, she didn't really care anyways, it was just food.

That reminded her that the trumpets were about to sound again, she should get back. Taylor opened lazily her eyes, and reincorporated herself, rubbing her temple and stretching her back, appreciating for the last time the sound of the wind and the burn of the sun licking her skin, as she started walking back to her cabin. She didn't know where were the girls, but she hoped they were already in the cabin. Taylor knew she was isolating herself, spending so much time alone wasn't something she usually did, maybe for that reason she felt like she needed this sensation now more than ever, she needed time to think, to be alone with her existence and think what she was doing with her life. She usually avoided being alone as much as she could, because when she was alone she overthinked absolutely everything, and that exhausted her so much, so spend the mornings in school, the afternoons in extracurricular activities and the nights partying around with surely fake friends was better than spending time with herself. No time for anything, no time for thinking, just like she liked. But now, now there was a void in her life, she was free from the rhythm that held monotony, and she realized spending time alone wasn't as bad as she imagined, it was a deceleration she didn't knew she needed.

Before she realized, she was at her cabin door, opening it to find her three new friends gathered in the room. She greeted them with a slight smile, being calm was making her softer, now she didn't have to try to be nice to people, it came naturally to her.

"Where have you been? We were searching for you to come with us to see the panel with the activities" Selena asked her with questioning eyes.

"Oh, I'm sorry I was exploring" She really appreciated the girls for including her in their plans, and realized that in one and a half day they had been better friends that the people she has known since third grade. It was kinda sad.

"Who are you, Dora the explorer?" Gigi said mockingly. Taylor rolled her eyes at her, giving her roommate an unimpressed look.

"What do you want for your birthday, a map or a monkey" Martha joined the conversation, a playful smile embodied in her face.

"I don't need a monkey, I have you guys already" Taylor said under her breath dryly. The girls laughed out loud around her, and she couldn't help to let out a genuine smile. Just in that moment, the trumpets sounded, so they got out and started walking to the dining room.

"Tay, remember that the first physical test are this afternoon, you are coming with me, right?" Gigi was walking next to her, leading the way, looking at her with raised eyebrows and expecting eyes.

"Yeah" She said simply.

"Oh wow, that has been easier than I expected"

"I have to prove something to someone" Taylor remembered the lanky brunette and grimaced. She needed to prove her that she was able, it was already settled in her head and nothing was going to stop her. Gigi looked at her with narrowed eyes, trying to figure out her cryptic response. Taylor signed and proceeded to explain what happened yesterday, the first and the second meeting, and elaborated profusely on why she had to beat Karlie's ass. I don't think that name suits her.
