"Emily are you ready!?" Emilly's Aunt called from downstairs. It was a Sunday afternoon, Emily and her siblings were getting ready to head to the rehab center to see their mom.
Emily and her siblings were now 5 weeks into school and Emily hasn't really spoken to Mr. Heins since their last talk. She's not mad at him anymore and she doesn't really think of him as much.
She's pretty sure she moved on and that maybe he did to, and that's good. Right?
After finding their mom passed out on their couch when going home to get more clothes, their aunt thought it was best to send her to rehab. Emily's mom didn't really have a past with drugs and this was all new to the family. So they put her there before it could get worse.
"Hey Mom!" Nora says running up to her giving her a hug. Her brothers following along. Emily on the other hand was mad at her, how could she do this to her family knowing that she's the only one they got.
Emily sits at a table staring out the window, her aunt coming to sit in front of her while Emily's siblings and their mom talked.
"You ok?" "Sure.." "Listen, Emily you can't be mad at her. She's having a hard time and is probably just as hurt as you are about your dad." "Yeah but she's better then that, how could she do this to us knowing that we need her." Emily gets up walking out and waiting in the car until it was time to go home.
"Omg Emily guess what!?" Tina says running up to Emily as they make their way to home room. "What?" "Timothy Thompson just asked me to the dance!"
"Dance?" "Yes the home coming dance, Emily did you actually forget?" "Yeah, I had a lot on my mind lately. When is it?" "Uhh tonight!"
"Shit." "No your coming right? Please tell me your coming." "I would but like who am I going to go with. What am I going to where?? I don't have anythi-" "Oh please you don't worry about that. I have plenty of things you can wear. But you do have to worry about asking Henry."
Tina laughs pointing to Henry standing with a bunch of boys. "What?! Ew no." "What do you mean? You obviously like him and he obviously likes you. I say it's a date." Tina starts walking towards him not caring about what Emily has to say. "Tina n-" "Yo Henry Emily wants to know if you would go to the dance with her." "Oh my god.." Henry starts walking towards the two with a smile. "I thought you'd never ask. Of course I would love to go to the dance with you." Emily smiles walking away leaving Tina and Henry alone. "She's just nervous." Tina says following Emily giving Henry a quick thumbs up.
"I can not believe you would ask him that." Emily laughs as Tina sits down next to her with a playful grin on her face. "Yeah you will thank me later."
"Why is everyone not seated!" Everyone quickly sits in their seats as Mr. Heins comes in a few minutes late. His hair is ruffled, and his tie looks as if it was sloppily put on along with his clothes. Someone had a rough morning. "Okay so." Mr. Heins starts as he sits back in his seat. Hot.
"I understand everyone is exited about the dance tonight, but please don't let that be an excuse as to why you can't follow simple rules that we have been following since day one. I will be calling you up individually to discuss your grades as we come to an end for Quarter one." Emily freezes in her seat. Individually? Her and Mr. Heins haven't talked individually since their conversation about her not telling anyone.
"How are your grades?" Tina whispers scooting closer to Emily. "Uhh. Literally terrible." "Whoa you have a F in- "Tina! Move to this seat." Mr. Heins says looking directly at Emily. But why? 'He's talking to Tina, Not me.' Tina quickly gets up without a word and moves to the desk at the front. Emily looks at him and rolls her eyes. Causing him to clench his jaw. Once he finishes up with the kid named Erick he looks at Emily.
