"How much further until we reach the exit?" I asked either of them. "from what I've heard, the exit is in the next area, but don't let your guard down, even for a moment, you could end up dead in less than a second." Lemon said as we ran, soon enough we heard the loud roar of the raptor monster though it was far away from us.
We made a sharp turn and saw the barricade to the very last area, this one had frozen blood pouring from the ceiling and splattered everywhere near it. "Stay close or you could cost all of are deaths," Lemon said to both of us. For some reason both me and Lemon turned into are monster forms, basically against are one will.
We jumped over the barricade and there wasn't even a line along the wall anymore. We stopped, none of us knew which way to go. "Harlequin, you dropped this," Deleina said handing me my phone that I had dropped without even noticing. Grabbing it, I saw that what was on the screen seemed to be a weird, glitched out map of a maze that just kept changing.
"Lemon, I think I might have found a way to the exit, but I'm not sure." I said showing her what was on my phone. She grabbed the phone, examining it carefully for a few minutes straight then looked up at me. "It just looks like your flat box is broken," She said with a dead face. Flat Box? Does she not know what a phone is?
That was when we started to hear the footsteps of the monster that was chasing us. It made the turn and started running right toward us. None of us knew what to do. Considering that you could die so easily by one wrong move, we didn't want to go into the maze. It was getting closer, death would await all three of us in the next few seconds.
"Grim will forever miss you on his death list, meaning that you won't die until you infect someone else." Oh right, according to Lemon I actually can't die until I infect someone else. But still, I don't want to see anymore of my friends dieing. I suddenly let out a loud roar, making the monster stop.
It stood there for a few seconds, then made a louder roar. "Oh right, I forgot about that! Fully turned monsters work by seeing who can roar the loudest, and the monsters roar is louder than any of the other monsters." Lemon said looking over at me. "Fully turned?" I asked confused on what the difference was.
"A fully turned monster can't go back into was it once was, its stuck as a monster-" The raptor monster slammed its foot on the ground and roared again, starting to slowly walk over. Lemon gestured for me to roar again and so I did. It stopped, and let out another roar.
This time, I took a deep breath and roared as loud as I could. It was the same as the one that happened before we had to leave the base. It shook the ground, but since it was coming from where I was standing, the ground shook more violently.
It stood there, we didn't know if it was going to attack or just stand there, until finally it put its head down, and left. I looked over at both Deleina and Lemon, relived that the monster finally stopped chasing us. Lemon and Deleina were staring at the glitches out map thing on my phone. "Do you know if that could help us?" I asked walking behind them to see the screen, which was still glitching out. They both shook their heads.
I noticed that there was a green dot at the bottom of the screen which didn't move, neither did the hallway the dot was in. "Wait can I see the phone really quick." I said and Deleina handed me my phone. Walking over to the barricade it looked like the dot was shifting closer to the edge of the phone.
When I held it out into the hallway over the barricade, the maze was gone and the dot was at the end of a hallway. When I walked back over to them, the scream went back to the glitched out maze. "Guys," I saw looking up at them. "I think I found the way out." "Well then, lead the way Prince." Lemon said. We carefully walked down the hallways making sure we don't get lost or loose each other. When we turned to go into a hallway, the hallway on my phone stopped glitching out, but then the one we just were in started to glitch out instead.
The only reason that we could see was from the bright red glowing light from my eyes, there weren't any lights what so ever. I looked down at the map on my phone and the red dot was on the top right of the screen. We only walked down a few hallways that weren't even that long, how the hell did we already end up at the top of the maze? I noticed that there was some sort of powder that was was spread out all over the floor.
The map showed that there was a hallway to the right so I looked up, there wasn't a hallway there. Even though it was glitched out on the map, appearing and the disappearing, I could see that there clearly was a hallway suppose to be there. I looked down to check the map again then looked up, there was now a hallway. "Was that hallway always there?" I asked looking over at Lemon and Deleina. "What hallway?" Lemon asked, with a confused tone.
I looked over at where the hallway was and it wasn't there anymore. Out of no where, there was a bunch of loud bangs that sounded like something bouncing off of metal walls. It started to get closer, then something, like a lantern, got shot out of a small vent near the ceiling. It hit the floor to but it didn't break. "Why did a lantern just get thrown out of a vent?" lemon said as Deleina went over to pick it up. "Well we don't technically need one right?" I said as she walked over to give it to me.
I grabbed it and instantly I turned back to my human form, once that ended I was able to hold it perfectly fine though it did sting my hand a little for some reason. "Can I see that?" Lemon said so I headed her the lantern and the same thing happened to her. She went back to her human form. She looked at it for a little and then said, "The lantern is coated with hardened Citrus Juice." "What does citrus juice have to do with anything?" I asked. "Monsters Number 1 weakness, Citrus, and hardened Citrus Juice kills fully turned monster, it forces one that aren't fully turned into their human forms." She explained, handing me back the lantern. We were going to continue walking, but instead of the hallway in front of us, it was a closed door. "Okay, some weird sh*t is going on here," Lemon said. We decided what to do quickly and went through the door.
