Modern au- Reader's Pov

I wake up and  see that my boyfriend just posted something on Instagram. I was a photo of him stuck in bed, stating. "OMG, I'm so sick today!" 

Oh, poor thing, I thought. I should take him some soup and check on him!

So, I called work and told them I needed a day off, besides I overwork myself anyways. Once my boss said it was ok, I started making him some soup.

Shouldn't you call him and let him know you're coming over? I asked myself. I shrugged it off. He wouldn't mind a small surprise!

John Laurens Pov

"Hey, Johnny?"

"Yes, dear?" I responded over the phone.

"Are you still coming over like normal?"

"Of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Well then, I'll see you in 15 minutes."

"See you then! Love you!"

"Love you too!"

"Bye."

"Bye." My boyfriend said as he hung up. 

After that, I gathered everything we might need and got in my car to go to his house.

Reader's POV.....again.....

When I pull up to his house I see a man with long curly hair and freckles get out of a blue car that looks like it might be a hand-me-down. He's wearing a faded green tie-dyed shirt with blue jeans and a light grey jacket. He carried a canvas tote bag with a turtle on the side. So far I didn't think he noticed me.

"Hello?" I say.

He turns his head and notices me. "Oh, hello there! What are you doing here?"

"Well, I heard Alex was sick, so I brought him some soup." I say and show him the thermos of soup I brought. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, me? I come here every Wednesday at this time."

"That's weird. What's your name?"

"John, John Laurens, he/him, and you?"

"(Y/n) (L/N), (pronouns)"

"I've never heard him talk about you before."

"Same"

"Well, as much as I love this conversation, I believe we should go inside." I suggest.

"I couldn't agree more!" He smiles.

We walk up to the front door, and I knock on the door.

My boyfriend Alex opens the door.  When he sees us he goes white. "J-John, (Y-y/n), funny to see both of you here!"

"What do you mean? I'm your boyfriend."

"What do you mean? I'm your (boyfriend/girlfriend/datefriend/etc.)"

Me and John spoke at the same time. Alex, hearing both of us yelped and ran inside.

"What do you mean, 'you're his boyfriend'? He's my boyfriend." I say to John with venom.

"I could say the same to you! However, I'm not going to. I just want to know how long you've been together." John tries to reason.

"About 4 months, why?"

"I've been with him for about that same amount of time. Apparently, he's been cheating on me with you, and vice versa."

"Well then, why don't we get some revenge?" I suggest.

He nods with an excited look on his face.

"Ok, then, just don't ask questions."

That gets him confused, but he shakes it off.

I ring the doorbell, and grab John's face to bring it down to mine and kiss him hard. Not risking separating ourselves until I hear Alex open the door, and even then I wait for a few seconds before pulling away. 

I act surprised that Alex saw us. "Oh, Alex! I'm so sorry......" I pause to let him think that I actually cared. "that I ever fell for you." I slap him. "That for for cheating on me and John." I turn to John after Alex closes the door. "Want to go out to eat?"

"I would love to!"

I grab his hand and we walk back to his car.

"By the way," he adds, "That was the best kiss I've ever gotten."

I blush, and hope that isn't going to be the last time he said that to me.
