Oh, good you're back! So, now onto part two!

Philip's POV- Modern Au

Well, I just finished a very important call with (my now boyfriend), Gabriel.

"Hey, Dads?!" I yelled hoping they could hear me.

Pop (John) opened the door and walked in. "Me or the other one?" He asked.

"Both actually."

"Ok, let me get him real quick." He turned and walked to Papa's office. "Alex, our son needs us. Get off your dam laptop for once and let's go."

I heard him groan then heard footsteps approach.

"Ok son, what's going on?" Pops asked.

"Ok, so before anything, do you two know what the word trans means?" I ask nervously.

"Yeah, why?" Papa says. They both seemed to be a little nervous themselves.

"Well, Theodosia, just called and told me she's trans." I said, not sure whether or not to change the name or pronoun yet.

"Ok, so did they tell you their new name and pronouns?" Pops asked gently.

"Yes, he uses he and him, and goes by Gabriel." 

They nod, then Papa asks, "Did  he tell you it was ok to tell us?"

"Yes, of course. In fact he asked me to tell you."

They nod again.

"Ok, now that you know that, I have an important question for you two, because I'm confused."

"Why are you confused?" Papa asks, worried.

"Well, I've always thought I'm straight. Now that this has been revealed, although, I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I'm dating a guy.  So am I bi or am I gay, or what am I now? I mean, I know that these are just labels, and they don't mean that much, but it's just something I want to figure out." I had kept my head down for the most of the conversation, but I finally looked up. 

They looked at each other seemingly having a silent conversation, then Pops spoke up. "Son, I'm going to be honest here, I've been through a similar situation. Before we talk about that, there is something me and your father need to tell you first." They shared another glance, and Papa nodded, before Pops continued. "First, you know how we told you that we adopted you?"

"Yeah."

"Well we had to tell you that, because we didn't want to tell you the truth."

"Wait, so I'm not adopted?"

"No. I'm surprised, you haven't figured it out yet. With how much you look like me. Now, I think your father can tell you more." He gestured to Papa, then grabbed his hand.

"Son, I'm trans. I'm biologically female. I figured this out about a year after me and your father met."

"So, I'm biologically your child?" I asked, bewildered. 

He nods in response. "Now your father can take it from here." He squeezes Pop's hand and waits.

"My situation was very similar to yours. I was certain, I was gay. That's just how it was. Then one day, a new student came. She was beautiful. I immediately fell in love with her passion, with her words, with every aspect of her, but I thought 'Wait, I can't have a crush on a girl, I'm gay'. Then one day, she told me and our two main friends, she was trans. This obviously helped me confirm I was still gay, but there was still a question lingering in my mind, 'If I liked him, before he came out, does this make me bi?' My answer then and still now is, no it doesn't. They've always been a guy, even before they realized that's what was going on, just now they are showing it. Now, I'm lucky enough to be married to that handsome man." Him and Papa looked at each other smiling.

"So, you're saying, I'm bi?" I asked.

"Yes," Papa picked up, "But like you said earlier, it's just a label, you are still you, no matter what. I know, no matter what, you'll still love Gabriel."

"Yes, I will." I smiled. "Thank, you. Both of you." I gave them a hug.

"Anytime son." Papa said.

After we pulled away Pops said, "Hey, maybe we can have a coming out party for Gabriel?" He suggested.

"That sounds wonderful." I answer.

They left the room, and I think about one thing.

"I know, no matter what, you'll still love Gabriel."

"Yes, I will."
