Requested by- MadyPalm-Writer (she/her)

So, before we get started, just because I wrote a request does not mean I will not write yours! I realize that I couldn't chose just one (if I get more than one request). So, requests are still open until October 17th.

John's POV- Modern High School au

High school is supposed to be the best four years of your life. If it is then something is going to need to change real quick. Let's back up.

I'm John Laurens, a sophomore (second year of high school) at Miranda High. My boyfriend Alexander Hamilton moved here after his mom died when he was 12. We immediately became friends. He also may have become my gay awakening... I told him on the last day of school in seventh grade. I remember, we were standing by the buses and I said, "Alex, I'm gay."

"Yeah, I know." He said.

"You do?" I asked.

"I know how much you hate bringing up controversial topics, but I've also heard you yell at some kids because they were being homophobic. You gave them a lecture on the history of the f slur and why they shouldn't use it." I saw him blush.

I think I did too. "Oh. Well, um, the other thing I wanted to say was that I like you." I said before running off onto my bus.

That night at dinner I got a text from Alex.

Hammy-Ham
John, I believe that you meant "I like you" as in romantically. In that case, I 100% reciprocate those feelings. If not, then please ignore this entire message. If you are actually into me, please meet me at the library at noon next Saturday. I hope to see you there!

"Who's that?" My mom asked sweetly.

I suddenly remembered I'm at dinner and tried to hide my blush. "Uhh, no one. It's just Alex!"

"Let me see it." My father demanded.

"It's nothing, Dad, really! You don't need to worry." I said fast, trying to defend myself, and definitely worried.

"Give it to me son!" He yelled, making my sister, Mary, quickly retreat.

"Yes sir." I sighed and walked to the other end of the table and relinquished my phone.

He read it. I saw many emotions cross over his face, none of them good. "John Henry Andrew Laurens," He screamed at me. He then became eerily calm, but the malicious glint in his eyes said otherwise. "Son, are you a homosexual?"

I knew he was homophobic and denied it.

"Then what does this boy mean by you telling him you like him?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I told him I like hanging out with him." I knew that wouldn't work as an excuse. "To be fair though, he's not from America, so maybe it could have been a mistranslation in his head." I prayed that this would work.

"You're lucky I'm nice, boy." He spat the words like venom. "Now, it seems you're mother and sister have finished eating, go clean the kitchen. No talking, you have one hour."

I wanted to object. I wasn't even halfway through with my spaghetti! However, if I said anything I would be back-talking, so I gently nod, "Yes sir."

Luckily that Saturday, my dad had work, so I was able to go to the library. I made sure to wear long sleeves and long pants, just in case any bruises would show. Oh, yeah, my dad had started beating me. He would do it when I didn't do my chores in an acceptable time frame, or if I mentioned Alex. Although, it would get worse throughout the years.

When I walked in I immediately saw Alex writing furiously at a desk. As I got closer I saw his computer is opened to a WikiHow specifically "4 Ways To Get A Boyfriend (For Guys)".

I smiled. "Hey Alex." I whispered in his ear. He panicked and shut his computer.

The blush on his face was priceless. "Uhhh, John, umm, so you're here."

"Obviously."

"So, um I wanted to ask, umm, will you umm..."

"Alex, I already know what you're going to ask. Yes, I'll be your boyfriend."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah, just you know how a lot of the people at our school are. It may not be best to have this so public, is that ok with you?" I said. It was partially true. There were and still are a lot of homophobic kids at our school. Although the main reason why was my father.

"Ok, whatever makes you comfortable." He smiled.

"In that case," I smiled, "Follow me." I said as I walked near the men's restroom. Once we got in I made sure no one was in there before kissing him strongly.

When we pulled away I saw him blush like crazy. "You know, you're cute when you blush!" I wink before giving him a quick peck on the nose. We walk out and I see the time the clock hanging on the parallel wall. "Oh no! Alex, I have to go. I have chores that need to be finished in thirty minutes." I say before rushing out of the library and all the way home.

After the five minute run (thank goodness for long legs), I started working on my chores. I barely got finished by the time my father got home, which means I still got beat, but not as bad.

That's how it's been, meet Alex whenever my dad's not home (usually at his house or some public place like the library), share a few private kisses, then run home in time to finish my chores, hopefully avoiding getting beaten.

Until High School started....

And cliffhanger! I was going to make this a one part, but I felt like I wanted to do a lot more set-up for this, so I decided to make this prologue for the real chapter. I hope you enjoyed it! Please consider voting and commenting! Remember that requests end October 17! I'll see you in Part Two! Bye!
