Warning- terrible jokes
A/n this doesn't have a ship really. This is going to be kinda short, since it's just Alex and T.Jeff insulting each other. Enjoy!
Modern au- third person
Just a normal day at the office. Hamilton and Jefferson bickering, Burr and Madison trying to separate them almost going insane, Washington screaming. Yep, just another normal day! It started with Alexander actually trying to be funny (and failing) then Thomas taking the joke and turning it into an insult war.
★earlier that morning★
Thomas Jefferson walked into the office wearing his favorite magenta suit and black square glasses (he said they make him look more professional). "Hello Mr.Washington!" He politely greeted his boss.
"Jefferson," he nodded in response.
Thomas walked to his office and on the way passed by Alexander's office. "Hamilton," he said firmly.
The short man snapped out of his half asleep daze and took a sip of his coffee (I think he lives off that stuff, really). "Jefferson," he said, tiredness evident in his voice.
"Jesus, Hamilton, do you ever sleep?"
"Ha ha, nice joke." He acted like he was suddenly reminded of something. "Speaking of jokes I got one for you."
"Is it you, or did you bring one of your kids?" The taller one smirked leaning on the door frame.
"Shut up Jefferson," he snapped. The other raised his hands in surrender. "So, why did the chicken cross the road?"
"Really, Hamilton? Did they not have any good jokes on your little island?" Tommy laughed.
Alex started to get red, from anger or embarrassment, no one knows. "Just say 'why?'!"
"Ok, 'why?'" He rolled his eyes.
"To get to the other side!" Hamilton yelled excitedly. "Get it, it's reverse humor! You're expecting something funny, but you get something logical!" He was smiling from ear to ear.
Jefferson raised his eyebrow, "You serious, Hamilton?" The other nodded yes. "Okay? I got one for you. Why did the chicken cross the road?"
"Why?"
"To get to the idiot's house."
Alex was confused.
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"The chicken!"
"I'm going to get you for that Jefferson!" Alex yelled.
"Okay, okay, sorry! Here's a better one. Why did Hamilton cross the road?"
"Wha-" the man was interrupted.
"To get to Maria Reynolds's house!"
"Hey!" He turned red again then mumbled, "Actually, most of it was at my own house."
"At your own house?"
Aaron Burr materialized out of nowhere, "At his own house?"
"DAM!" (comment if you understood that reference) the whole world shouted.
So that was a fun start to the day. I'm surprised the office is still standing after all their fighting.
A/N sorry, I didn't know how to end this so I hope that was half decent (I seem to say this about all my one shots) so yeah thanks for reading this absolute trash one shot book I'm writing!
