Fun fact before we start, I hinted at this chapter on one of my posts under the "conversations" tab on my profile.

I had a random motivation to write a Philip chapter, especially a Philidosia chapter, but no inspiration. Then out of nowhere an idea about Theodosia struck! Then I found out how to connect that to Phillip! So long story short, I'm here and hope you enjoy this story.

Warning- Transgender, coming out, actual accepting parents for once, (I pretty much spoiled this but here we go!)

Theo's POV- Modern Au

So I've been certain about this for a while, and now, all I have to do is tell him. No big deal right? Yeah, I got this! Then after this I have to tell Philip. WAIT!  I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT HOW PHILIP WILL REACT! I KNEW ABOUT MY DAD BUT HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT MY OWN BOYFRIEND?! HE'S PROBABLY GOING TO HATE ME AND THEN BREAK-UP WITH ME AND I'LL LIVE ALL ALONE FOREVER!

I hear the door open. "Theo, I'm home!" My dad calls.

I walk downstairs and hug him. "Hey, Dad. How was work?"

"It was work. All the usual things. Although Thomas was off so that gave the office some quiet." He chuckled.

"Are you busy?" I blurt out. Well, there goes easing the way into the situation...

"Never too busy for you my dear. Why?"

"I just wanted to talk about something." I say shyly.

"You can always talk to me, about anything." He promises me cupping my face in his hand. "Now, why don't we find a more comfortable place to discuss this?"

I nod, following him to his office. Although this is the room where all our more serious conversations happen, this room has always been one of the most comfortable in the whole house.

I sat down on the couch and  my father sat in the chair on the other end of a small table which held a chess set. With all of our serious conversations, we always lightened it up with a game of chess.

"So, what is it Sweetheart? I promise to listen to whatever you have to say." The says, moving his knight.

"Well, how do I put this lightly?" Pause and think for a moment while moving a pawn. "I don't really feel like I am myself, if that makes sense."

"Can you explain?" He moves his queen.

"Ok, so I'm not going to beat around the bush any longer, I'm just going to say it." He looks up. "Dad, I'm trans."

"I'm sorry, but what does that mean?" He says confused before stealing a pawn of mine.

"Ok, so textbook definition is a person not identifying with the gender they were assigned at birth." His eyes widen in shock. "What this means specifically for me is, I feel uncomfortable and out of place  in my body. I feel a disassociation with every aspect of being female. Every time someone calls me "she" it feels like they're just stabbing me in the back. I've always felt this way, at least a little, it's just gotten worse over the years. Now I've finally found a word for it, and a way to make it better."

"How long were you waiting to tell me?" He asks, forgetting the game.

"I don't know three weeks? Like I said, I've always felt this way, that's just when I found out what it was."

"Ok. You said you know ways that will make you feel better. What are they?" He asks with a hint of concern.

"Well there are some small things we can do, like using a different name and pronouns to refer to me. We can occasionally buy some more masculine clothes for me. Just, small things."
