*Maggie's POV*

I let the tears stream down my face, not even caring if someone saw me. I leaned against the headboard of the bed and hugged my knees to my chest.

I couldn't believe that Glenn would be gone for so long. Anything could happen. Walkers could surround this house and we would have to leave, or the group on the run could get lost and never make it back. I guess I've just gotten used to him always being here.

I stiffened when I heard the creek of the door. My head whipped to my left and Emmie popped her head in. I wiped my eyes and gave her a weak smile.

"Mia was crying," she said and I noticed she had Mia on her hip.

"I'm sorry Em, I'll take her," I said and held out my arms.

"No it's okay. She's just bored. I've got her." She set the baby in her crib and handed her a few toys.

Emmie went to the door and placed a hand on the doorknob. Then she softly sighed and came to the edge of the bed. Her arms wrapped around my shoulders and she lap on my lap. "I miss him too." She looked at me with her big brown eyes and I felt a small smile escape my lips. "But don't worry, he'll come back, just like he always does."

There was a high pitched squeal and we looked up at Mia. She was standing in the crib with the help of the bars on the side. "Mama!" She squealed.

"She said mama!" Emmie said and smiled.

"She did," I said amd laughed.

We sat there together for a few minutes and Mia slowly fell asleep. "Momma?" Emmie asked.

"Yeah sweetie?"

"Grandpa Hershel and Aunt Beth would be so proud of you," she said.

I let out a huge smile and pulled her to my chest. "Thank you baby."

*Emmie's POV*

I sat in the living room alone that night, clutching the walkie talkie in my hand. I curled up into the small chair and felt my eyelids growing heavy. The light pitter patter of the rain against the windows slowly caused me to start to drift off.

I snapped awake when I heard static from the walkie talkie. I pressed my finger down on the button. "Hello? Daddy?"

"Emmie are you there?" Daddy asked. The familiar voice calmed my nerves and I breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm here," I said. "Are you okay? Is anyone hurt? Where are you? Are you gonna be back soon? What's-"

"Woah Em, slow down hun," he said and I giggled a bit. "Everything's fine. Everyone's okay. They're all asleep actually."

"Same here. I refused to go to sleep until you radioed me."

"Well I gotta go now baby. You get some sleep," he said.

"Okay, promise you'll be safe?" I asked.

"Always."

"Will you radio me tomorrow?" My nerves started to take over at the thought of not hearing from him.

The was a slight pause and a bit of static. "I'll defiantly try, Em."

"Love you daddy. Bye."

"Love you too. Bye, Em."

'Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!' I kept repeatedly throwing a tennis ball against the wall out of boredom.

The ball came rolling back to me and I picked it up. This time I chucked it as hard as I could, causing it to bounce back over my head and roll down the hallway. I sighed out of annoyance and got up out of the small armchair.

I made my way down the hall where the ball had stopped in front of Dylan and Carls room. I decided to have some fun and I pressed my ear against the door.

"Yeah and there was always this chick in my neighborhood that would stare at me when I came home from school," Carl said. I let out a small giggle and opened the door.

"So what was her name Carl?" I asked and jumped on the bed.

"Emmie get out," Dylan said in an annoyed tone.

"No! I wanna hear all about this girl," I laughed and fell back on the bed.

"Em, your to young for this stuff, and besides, you're a girl," Carl said.

"It's okay, I don't mind!" I said.

"Emerson get out before I all mom in here." Dylan pointed at the door and I started to get up. When he though I was gonna leave I turned back and bit his hand. After that, I quickly ran outside and back into the living room. I could hear from all the way down the hall him yelling, "She freaking bit me!"

I laughed and fell back in the armchair again. My laugh then started to fade into a frown.

"What's wrong Em?" Mom asked.

"Dylan's being mean."

"Well I have something that'll cheer you up." She held out the walkie talkie. "Guess who radioed in?!"

I smiled and snatched it from her hand. She laughed as I ran into the bathroom and sat on the floor. I pressed the button and spoke into it.

"Hi daddy!"

"Hey Em," he said. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. Dylan's just being mean," I said.

He laughed. "Well that what all teenage boys are like. Trust me."

"I guess."

"Well I didn't know if I would be able to radio in tonight since I don't have to be on watch so I just wanted to make sure you all were okay," he said.

"Everything's fine," I said.

There was a bit of static coming from the walkie talkie. "Well I-" he was cut off all of a sudden and I heard daddy screaming bloody murder.

"Daddy?! Daddy?! Answer me!" I screamed. I could head the moans of walkers coming through the device and there was a munching a gurgling sound. It was the should of walkers eating something. "DADDY!"

Mom, Tara, and Carol rushed in. Mom grabbed the walkie talkie from me. "Glenn! Glenn can you hear me?!"

There was another small yell and then all that I could hear was the munching sounds of the walkers eating something. The sound of walkers eating daddy.
