I woke up late today,
You didn't wake me up,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I sleepwalked to the kitchen,
no tea in kettle today,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I ran the bath,
forgot the towel,
called you thrice,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I packed my bag,
lost my kerchief and socks,
no one handed me lunch,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I returned in the evening,
unlocked the door,
no smile awaited me,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I lie awake now,
feeling cold,
you won't wrap me in a blanket,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I picked my phone,
Dialed 'My Dear Mom',
No one replied,
like all yesterdays,
Oh! I forgot you left.I think all tomorrows
shall be same now,
like all yesterdays;
Oh! I remember
you left me yesterday. This is dedicated to a mother who left, too soon and too suddenly. Miss you Aai. This book is for my mother and all mothers who deserve better sons and daughters.
