The book, with each turn of a page...brought back a memory,
It wasn't the words in them, but the madness through each page.
Old dog-eared pages that bear witness to someone's pause...
to laugh, cry, and fall in love.Scant smell that stuck with it, like an old memory,
it's long quiet conversation with the old dusty bookshelf;
those old crushed flowers that carry the scent of memories.
What the pages hold aren't stories but lives.
What the lives now hold aren't the fictitious stories,
but the hope that they were all real.
And all wandering the earth, alone, longing to be longed for.
