Summer got into the SUV after being checked by medics who said there was no serious damage but she would be sore for the next few days. They headed to jet and got on, Summer changed on the jet into a grey crop tracksuit and some white socks. Everyone was resting, including Summer she had sat next to Reid who was reading a novel she had just gotten comfy when the jet began to land. Everyone made their way off Summer moving slower than usual, but Reid waited for her, helping her down the stairs. Emily has sent everyone home for the night and gave them the next two days off, it had been a long case that ended with the unsub in custody but none of them felt it was much of a victory due to the beating Summer received, especially Chase he had been quiet the whole trip back barely being able to look at Summer knowing he had lost her in the crowd.

Summer told Spencer she would meet him at the car there was just something she had to do, she walked over to Chase who was getting some stuff from his desk he needed, she pulled him into a big hug he returned the gesture and held her tight, she stepped back and grabbed his hand "None of this was your fault, one of us was going to get it and honestly I am glad it wasn't you" Summer said, Chase looked at her, her lip was split she had a cut on her forehead above her eyebrow, bruises were forming under her collar bone and he was sure all over the rest of her body from being thrown so very hard into a wall "Summer I can't forgive myself for losing you out there" he said he was so angry at himself you could see it in his face "Well I forgive you there's nothing else you could have done, if you approached him at the bar he would have started shooting" she said letting go of his hand and moving her hand up to his shoulder "I am fine, please, trust me" she smiled.

He walked her out to Spencer's car, saying good night to both of them. Spencer took her bag and opened her door, she got in the car and so did Spencer, the drive over to her apartment was silent not uncomfortable more peaceful. Spencer parked the car hopped out got her things and opened the door for her, they both walked up to Summer's apartment and stepped inside. The apartment was everything Reid imagined and it smelt beautiful like vanilla and fresh jasmine which made him smile "How are you feeling?" Reid asked as Summer turned on the kettle getting mugs out for the both of them, "I am ok just worried about Chase" she said getting tea bags and putting them in the mugs, she was making them some calming tea after the night they both had "Yeah I figured that's who you were talking to when you told me you'd meet at the car" he said "Yeah he feels terrible, I wish he didn't though but anyway" she said topping the mugs off with the water from the kettle she slid the cup over to Spencer "So what about you? Are you ok?" she said blowing on her tea trying to cool it he looked up at her "I was terrified, I don't know what came over me but I just lost control when I saw him doing that to you" he said.

"You didn't have to do that for me, Spencer, your poor hands look at them" she said taking a sip of tea, letting the warm liquid relax her "I wouldn't have it any other way" Spencer said taking their cups to the lounge room placing them on the coffee table. They both sat and talked for a while, and watched a movie both of them completely aware that the small feelings they thought they had for each other were definitely not small at all, neither of them ready to admit to it so they kept it hidden from each other. The movie had ended and Spencer was getting ready to leave just then Summer turned to him and said "Would you mind staying the night?" she said nervously reaching her hand up to her sleeve trying to fight the urge to start scratching. He smiled walking over grabbing her hand and holding it away from her arm "Of course, I would love that" he said kissing her forehead.

They made their way into Summer's room and sat down at the end of her bed. Spencer grabbed her chin and turned her face to his tracing her bottom lip with his thumb "I am so sorry he touched you like that Summer, no one will ever touch you like that again, not you, no way" he said softly, Summer looked down at the thumb tracing her lip "Spencer, you don't have to protect me, I signed up for the same job you did, it's dangerous that's the risk we run" she said letting out a sigh "I nearly killed a man with my bare hands tonight, when I say no one will touch you like that again, I mean it" he said in a serious tone he grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her plump lips he went to pull away but she pulled him back in this time kissing him with force she wanted him and he wasn't going to stop her.

She took her jumper off and pushed him onto the bed, unbuttoning Spencer's shirt and taking it off.
