Part 1

The following morning the teen titans were downstairs in the living room waiting for the limo to take them to the memorial in downtown Gotham. Dick, Tim, Barbara, Stephanie, and Cassandra had already left for the ceremony.

Jaime, Donna, Kori, and Wally were waiting for Raven to come downstairs. When Damian met up with them, he could the sad faces they had. No one wanted to attend it, Knowing their friends were gone was hard enough but having to go to their funerals was almost too much to bear. Kori thought about saying a few words to her team but couldn't muster up the will to do so. Finally after a few minutes, Raven came downstairs dressed in all black, making her pale skin stand out even more. She connected with Damian thanking him for staying with her last night. Damian simply gave a slight nod with a small smile and walked with her out to the limo.

The limo arrived picking the team up and driving them to the memorial. Each member sitting next to their closest friend; Donna and Wally, Jaime and Kori and Raven with Damian.

Each pair took comfort in one another consoling their broken hearts. Raven looked to her teammates who all had watery eyes and the same look of distraught. She switched her gave to Damian who had a stone face. Almost like he was unaware of where they were heading.

She taped into his soul to see what he was feeling and what she found, sent chills down her spine. All she could sense was an endless void of nothingness. Not a single emotion of sadness or anger was in his body.

She reached for his hand and felt a cold hand "are you alright?" She said. With no emotion in his voice he said yeah. Raven worried about him unsure of what truly was happening in his mind. She leaned her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

The ride there seem short, that was because they stopped several city blocks short of the location.

"Why did we stop" asked Damian.

"We can't go any further the roads are blocked" replied the driver.

"Blocked? By what?"

"See for yourself". The team stepped out of the car and saw the streets filled with people, all of who were going to the memorial. Millions and millions of people were attending the memorial for Metropolis

"Damn so how we gonna get there now?" asked Jaime.

"I mean we can fly there" suggested Donna.

"Huh good idea, meet you guys over there," he said as he, Donna carrying Wally, and Kori all flew off.

"I can teleport us there" suggested Raven.

"You go I'm going to walk there I need some fresh air." Damian replied. Raven understood that he wanted to be alone and respected his wish. She vanished into a portal leaving Damian alone, who was looking up at the sky with no purpose. He closed his eyes and let the sun hit his face, tuning the sound of people out he began making his way through the crowd, the streets were filled with people all there to mourn their lost loved ones. Signs hung from the sides of skyscrapers, people holding posters of the ones they had lost. The city seemed to be decorated more as a remembrance rather than a mourning evening. Damian struggled with every step he took. The city was so packed he wondered if they all jumped at once whether they could create a small earthquake. With each street he walked by he would see the faces of his lost friends constantly being reminded that he had failed to save them. Knowing if the joker had only been killed they would still be alive. That realization slowly began to eat at his conscience. Finally, after a while, he arrived at the Hall of Justice for the ceremony just in time. Not a single person had recognized him.
