Year 2: Unexpected Acquaintances

Gordon smoked his cigarette as he watched what was once Gotham best cops file into the building. His close partner Harvey Bullock, and Renee Montoya  joined the ranks of this secrete meeting the bat members had arranged along with Wildcat and the covert team. Gordon walked over to Huntress and Batwoman "they're never going to agree to this plan."

"The best we can do is explain the situation and let them decide. We have to at least try Gordon." Huntress replied. Once all the cops had settled in and had taken a seat, Gordon alongside Barbara walked forward to the crowd. "Whats the meaning of this meeting?" A cop yelled from the back as several other asked the same question.

"Alright keep it down. This meeting is supposed to be in secret." Gordon ordered. "I'll cut to chase fellas over the past few months our lives have changed dramatically. The arrival of these super cops has drastically changed the way our police force operates and works."

"Works? We don't have jobs because of them!" The crowd roared with anger.

"I know. These cops are brutal they pretend to help people and protect them but we know that all they do is enforce Supermans extreme laws and brutally punish those who don't obey him."

"There not cops. There thugs." Bullock yelled with many others agreeing with his statement.

"Correct. We know that they are not the protectors of Gotham, we are. Sure we haven't always done the best job but thats because we haven't always have the tools we need at our disposal, but now we do. Listen what I am offering is a shot at redemption. A shot to cast out these fake cops and idols who play pretend God. I am giving all of you an opportunity to show Gotham who their real protectors are, us."

"That's all fine and dandy but how are we supposed to fight back?" Renne said.

"I am glad you asked. We have been able to copy the pills that these super cops have. This pill right here will grant you the same powers those thugs on the street have for approximately 2 hours. Listen I am asking each and everyone of you to stand up against Superman. If you feel like that is too much pressure for you or fear for your family safety you are more than welcome to leave while you still can. None of us will blame you if you put your family safety first. We completely understand." Gordon paused for a moment waiting to see if anyone left but everyone stood their ground.

"We ain't going nowhere Gordon now get on with it!" Bullock said as the crowd erupted into cheers.

"Very well then I am glad to hear that. The plan is to very subtlety begin taking out these thugs one by one. But you must make sure no one knows that we have are using these pills. You will all be assigned locations to begin. Rest assured that with time we will overthrow Superman and his regime and take back our city!" Gordon said as the crowd roared once again with excitement. The cops all took their share of pills and left to their mission.

"You see and you said they would never agree." Barabara said.

"Those poor bastards don't know I probably sent them to their death."

"We all have to make sacrifices dad."

"Well that much is true. How have you been holding up?"

"I've been alright. I still have my ups and downs."

"Oh Barabara I'm sorry for everything you've been through."

"Its alright Dad Ill be fine."

"I know you will kiddo." He said as Barabara walked away, with Batwoman then approaching him "You know I studied psychology. I learned to tell when someone is lying." She said.

"Yeah? What are you trying to say?"

"You tell me."

".....I couldn't tell Barabara, not now. She's already been through so much. If I told her now, it might destroy her."
