Gods/Regime
The news of the confrontation spread like wildfire, and before long, a swarm of media outlets had descended on the scene. The flood of reporters and camera crews only exacerbated the chaos, filling the air with a cacophony of questions and frantic commentaries.
Soon, Lex, Clark, Diana, and Black Adam arrived, their expressions grave as they took in the standoff between Sinestro and the Olympian gods. All the while, Hal's gaze remained fixed on Sinestro, the seed of treachery he'd planted earlier still gnawing at his thoughts. The conversation was delayed for the moment, yet the prospect of confronting Sinestro loomed large in Hal's mind.
Once briefed on the situation, Clark stepped forward to engage with the gods. His voice held an edge of frustration as he demanded, "What's the meaning of this? Why are you doing this?" Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare, responded coolly. "Your world now worships false gods," she began, a glint of accusation in her eyes as they swept over the assembled heroes. "You, yourselves, have become the objects of veneration, not us, the true gods."
Clark and Diana attempted to counter her accusations, claiming they never intended to assume such divine roles. Diana, however, was less diplomatic. "You have no right to claim the Earth as your own," she stated, her tone biting and defiant.
Apollo, the proud sun god, bristled at her audacity. "And who's going to stop us?" he retorted, his gaze challenging. Diana met his look unflinchingly, her voice steady. "Is that a threat?" she asked.
Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, interjected, her voice as cold as ice. "Do not fool yourself, Diana. Do you honestly believe you can take us on?"
Clark watched the escalating confrontation, acutely aware of the precariousness of the situation. Yet Diana seemed undeterred, even eager to see it through. "Where are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades? Why aren't they here?" she challenged, her words laced with suspicion.
The gods faltered the pointed question hanging heavily in the air. Their silence only fueled Diana's speculation. "Don't tell me they don't support your cause," she continued, her smirk widening at their continued silence. "So, this grand plan of yours doesn't even have Zeus's backing. How pathetic," she jeered.
Her mocking laughter was abruptly cut short by a new voice. "They don't need their support. They have mine," Hera, the queen of the gods, declared as she made her appearance. Her voice resounded with such authority that it halted all chatter, even Diana was taken aback, her smirk replaced by a look of apprehension. The game had changed, and the stakes had risen considerably.
The sight of Hera struck Diana like a lightning bolt, her presence commanding reverence and fear. The other gods, Athena, Hercules, Apollo, and Artemis, visibly relaxed at the queen of the gods' arrival. Their relief filled the tense air, further unsettling Diana and her companions.
"The age of your regime is coming to an end," Hera announced, her voice echoing across the silent crowd, reaching the ears of countless live viewers tuned into the heated encounter. The queen's gaze swept over Clark, Diana, and the rest of the regime with a firm finality. "You will surrender your power, or you will face our wrath," she concluded, her ultimatum hanging heavily in the silence that followed.
For a moment, Clark and Diana stood frozen, their expressions a mix of shock and defiance. They found themselves backed into a corner, their choices whittled down to surrender or wage a war against the gods.
The air grew dense with anticipation, the tension palpable as the world waited with bated breath for their response. As formidable as they were, standing against the gods of Olympus was an intimidating prospect, even for the regime. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on their shoulders, the weight of their decision bearing down on them.
