He didn't know how you were going to react. He kind of expected you to hug him, or stop crying at least.
But you cried more.
The tears came out faster than they did before, the sobs wracking through you and stuttering your breathing. Kusuo's eyes widened and he stumbled back in surprise, not knowing how to deal with this.
Kusuo: Why are you crying-
Y/N: Because... this is a *hiccup* dream and I'm gonna hafta... say this all over again tomorrow~
You sobbed out, covering your face with your hands.
Y/N: The real K- Kusuo would never *hiccup* say that-
You wailed, incoherent sobs coming from your mouth.
Kusuo: Don't be an idiot, Y/N.
You sniffed and looked up. He was scowling slightly, a hint of amusement on his face as he looked you over. The realization hit you like a ton of bricks; he loves you back?
Y/N: W- what?
Kusuo: Obviously this isn't a dream. Good grief- get a grip.
Your brows furrowed and you wiped your eyes, straightening your posture.
Y/N: Well...
You sniffed again, your voice thick from the stuffy nose you gained from crying.
Y/N: ...this is embarrassing.
He smiled at you, shaking his head in disbelief. You chucked, then he chuckled. It was an awkward and weird and exhausting moment but he loved you nonetheless.
Kusuo: Stop crying.
His voice was softer, lower. His made his way closer to you, tilting your chin to make you look up at him.
Kusuo: I'm-
He pursed his lips.
Kusuo: I want to hug you.
You smiled softly. The last time he tried to hug you, both of you fell. You smirked to yourself, snaking your arms around his torso and leaning your head on his chest.
Y/N: Now put your arms.. here.
You mumbled against him, guiding his stiff arms around your shoulders. His head moved on top of yours, his chin resting in your hair.
Kusuo: This is nice.
You hummed back, enjoying the envelope of warmth between you two. Your cheek rested against his chest, you hearing the thumps of his heart as if it were your own. It was so peaceful and serene; you could stay like this forever.
