Chapter 21

10th October 1999, Nott Manor

Alex had been missing for a week and the tensions in Nott Manor were through the roof, Theo had told Katherine of the fight he had with Harry. Katherine didn't want to believe that Harry could have been so harsh, especially knowing that Alex was out there somewhere, alone and frightened.

Katherine struggled to come up with a way to keep the book and get their son back. however, Katherine did have a plan though if it were to go wrong it could have serious consequences for Alex. She had planned to create a fake book, put a random set of dates and event in hopes of fooling them.

Theo didn't have any contact with Harry since their fight, he didn't feel like he could trust anyone at all. Anyone that Katherine suggested should take care of Lisa and Bekah, Theo immediately shut down, at this moment in time there were only a few people he trusted.

"There's no way," Katherine argued "I don't even know who she is,"

"She's Blaise's mother-

"That doesn't help me," Katherine said, resting her hand on her forehead

"Look, I know you don't know her but I do, my mother died when I young, Helene stepped in as a mother for me," Katherine's features softened, she let out a sigh,

"Alright, I don't feel comfortable going to her home,"

"That's okay, I'll take Lisa and Bekah, to Helene's when I get back we'll go to Knockturen Alley,"

Theo leaned in to kiss her, however, Katherine turned her head to the side, so he kissed her cheek instead. Theo Left Nott Manor with Lisa and Bekah, while Katherine created a fake book. Katherine and Theo had fought many times before but somehow it was different now. The last time they fought Lisa had overheard them, causing her to get upset.

Katherine had asked Ginny to borrow Harry's invisibility cloak, Katherine would have asked Harry herself, but she was too ashamed of what happened between him and Theo. Though, she got the feeling that someone wasn't telling her the whole story.

At Knockturn Alley,

Katherine and Theo walked through their plan one more time. Theo would be under the cloak, Katherine was to hold on to the book until she had Alex safely by her side. Theo walked ahead of her vanishing as he draped the cloak over himself.

Katherine clutched the book close against her chest, she glanced in every direction wizards and witches that lurked down in Knockturn Alley eyed her carefully as she was the type of person to be seen around there.

"Katherine Parker," she juped the person appeared to resemble Max Burke thought his voice sounded very different.

"You're not Max Burke," she questioned

"You came alone, wise choice," he didn't correct her of his identity

"Where is Alex?" she asked,

"Did you bring the book?" he asked again ignoring her question,

"Yes, but you won't have it until I know Alex is safe," the wizard turned around, a small figure appeared from behind him,

"Mum!" Alex said, he hurried forward, the wizard grabbed the back of his jumper preventing him from going any further,

"I want Alex first," Katherine held her hand out for Alex

"The book," he demanded, Katherine held the book pointing the tip of her wand to it

"Alex now, or the book burns," Katherine said,

The wizard watched her carefully, Katherine's eye bore no sign of a bluff. He clenched his jaw, reluctantly releasing the boy, Alex ran into his mother's arms, Katherine held him, whispering in his ear.

"Run and stick to the right," Katherine patted his back for Alex to run through Knockturn Alley

Which he did, he didn't want to leave his mother, however, he could sense the situation he was in was too dangerous. Alex did as his mother said and stuck to the right, where he was grabbed, he kicked and squirmed, yelling as loud as he could.

"Shh," Alex heard, he was draped in a cloak,

"Dad," Alex wrapped his arms around Theo, "55 Loughton Lane," Alex said, creased his brows at him

"What?"

"That's what the men were saying," Alex told him

"Okay we'll wait for mummy," Theo told him,

Theo looked for Katherine coming down the alleyway, 'What was taking her so long?' he thought. He kept Alex behind him so he could grab Katherine when she came around the corner. He finally heard a commotion coming down the alley, Katherine was running away from them Theo grabbed her wrapping him under the cloak. They stay there quietly, as the man looked around for them.

Once the coast was clear, Theo cautiously walked Katherine and Alex out of Knockturn Alley. Taking the cloak off them after they reached the Diagon Alley, Theo apparated Katherine and Alex back to Nott Manor while he went to go and pick up Bekah and Lisa.

"Did I do alright mum?" Alex asked,

"What sweetie?" Katherine asked,

"You told us, that if the nasty people come that we had to be calm and listen, I told dad, that 55 Loughton Lane," Alex explained,

Katherine smiled at him, opening her arms for Alex to hug her. Future Katherine and Theo must have told the children to do specific things, in certain situations. Now they had two leads, Alex had seen the men and could identify them at the Ministry. As well as an address '55 Loughton Lane'
