Chapter 42

9th March, Nott Manor,

Katherine squinted her eyes, the sunlight blinding her, she flicked her wand closing the curtains. She turned to the empty space next to her. She sat up, holding the covers against her, she looked around, she could smell something burning.

She gathered the covers around her, following the smell she found Theo in the kitchen she leaned on the door frame, watching him and his attempts at cooking. He cursed as oil splattered a small drop burning his wrist, she chuckled, he turned smiling at her.

"I thought, I'd make you breakfast," he said, he looked in the pan "but it's proving to be more difficult than I thought,"

"Why didn't you make it with magic?" she asked

"You made it seem so easy," she chuckled

"Let me try it," she asked, he plated up the omelette, handing her a fork, she took a bite

"So what do you think?" he asked

"A little overdone, but that can be fixed with some sauce, you don't need to do any of this for me though," she hopped on the counter, he pressed his lips against hers, light squeezing her thigh through the covers.

"We're going to see Narcissa today," he told her, she looked down between them

"If you don't mind I'd rather stay here-

"No, you coming with me, she shouldn't have treated you like that," she smiled, he lifted his chin placing a delicate kiss on her lips.

"Go get dressed," he whispered, "we're leaving soon,"

At Malfoy Manor,

Theo and Katherine arrived outside of Malfoy Manor, he held her hand she gripped his arm, she smiled at her kissing her forehead. She took a deep breath her last interaction with the Malfoy Lady wasn't pleasant, Katherine knew she'd be fine while ever she had Theo by her side.

"How wonderful to see you, dear," Narcissa said, warmly hugging Theo, he didn't let go of Katherine's hands, resulting in an uncomfortable hug.

"Miss Parker," she nodded her head at Katherine, Theo squeezed her hand,

"I have your proof," Theo said, handing a Ministry file, filled with all the proof he and Katherine had gathered that pointed to Bellatrix Lestrange, she read through the files, her eyes examined every inch of the files.

"Ready to answer our questions?" Theo said, she sighed,

"I supposed though I'm not sure what help I'll be," she gestured for them to follow her in the sitting room

"What can help you-

"Firstly, you apologise to Katherine," he demanded

"Theo, it really doesn't matter,"

"No he's right, I was very rude to you, I should have been open to hear what you had to say, forgive me for speaking out of turn," Narcissa said, Katherine nodded

"Go ahead ask her," Theo said, leaning back into the sofa.

"Erm, we have reason to believe that Bellatrix made Horcruxes,"

"Five to be exact," Theo added

"Continue,"

"We suspect that your father's wand may be one as well as your necklace, and possible Regulus Black ring," she said, she held Theo's hand tightly, unable to read Narcissa's expression.

"You said, my cousin thought I could help, in what way?" she asked

"Sirius said you know Bellatrix better than anyone and that you may what she might have turned into a Horcrux," Narcissa hummed, taking a moment to think.

"Well, Bellatrix thought highly of our family, I would have thought that she would use heirlooms passed down through the family, my father wand, my necklace which originally belonged to her, I would believe she didn't know Regulus' true beliefs, therefore, would have used his ring," she explained

"Is there anything else she may have taken?" Theo asked

"Just wait here," she said, leaving them alone in the sitting room

Theo walked around the room, he pondered whether Narcissa may have been stalling, she rarely left mid-conversation, unless she wanted to snub someone. He noticed a familiar flyer that laid on the mantlepiece, 'LeStrange is back!'

"What is it?" Katherine asked

"It's a club that we use to go to," he said, "I thought it was shut down,"

"Could it be worth checking out?" she asked,

"Yes, it'll look weird if we go on our, I call a few people to go with us," he took his wand duplicating the flyer, placing the new one in his pocket.

"Only heirlooms I could think of is my mother's locket and my aunt Walburga's chalice," Narcissa said,

"Where could find them?" he asked

"My mother's locket most likely went back to the Rosier family, as for my aunt's chalice I have no idea where that could be, I would suggest talking to her sons,"

"Thank you, before is Draco here?" Theo asked

"Yes, Aurora is here too,"

"Perfect," Theo took Katherine's hand taking up to Draco's room, he knocked on the door, "Malfoy wakey, wakey,"

"What?" he grunted

"Did you know LeStrange is still open?"

"No, not until the flyer came not long ago," he said rubbing his eyes,

"I'm going are you coming?" Theo asked

"I need a night out, I'll definitely be there,"

Theo and Katherine left Malfoy Manor, the club scene wasn't Katherine's usual choice for a night out, however, it was strange that the place was open again. It was worth checking out, Theo had been before at least he could brief her on the environment that LeStrange used to. Though the concern of her fitting in would have been a big red flag to anyone looking for them.
