Chapter 23

15th October 1999, 55 Loughton Lane

Katherine dropped the children off at Grimmauld Place, as she waited for Theo to return from the Ministry with the files from the night Harry and Ron checked out the grave robberies. Theo pinpointed the specific graves that were burgled. To make their way around the graveyard a lot quicker.

Katherine took her muggle camera to take photos, of anything that may be useful. Theo said the graves that had been robbed were Cygnus Black III and Pollux Black. Theo found it strange that these specific members of the Black family had the graves robbed.

Theo took a map of the graveyard, pointing Katherine to Cygnus Black III headstone. The grave was still cornered off from the public, Katherine took photographs of the grave and the area surrounding the grave. Theo checked the inside of the graves, the valuables they had weren't taken.

"Was Cygnus reported as ever losing an arm?" Katherine asked as Theo checked his medical reports

"No,"

"Why is he missing the part of his arm then?" Katherine questioned,

Theo checked Pollux Black's grave, he too had part of his arm missing. In Harry and Ron's report, both bodies hadn't been disturbed in any way, which meant that someone had to have come back after Aurors had finished the investigation.

"Why would their bones be missing? What use could the grave robbers have for them," Theo said,

Katherine and Theo read through the Auror report from Harry and Ron. Katherine compared the photos from the crime scene and the photos they had taken of the graves now.

20th October 1999, Nott Manor

Theo had received word that two Azkaban inmates had escaped, the Lestrange brothers, Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange. They weren't the two people that Alex identified at the Ministry but they were the people who Katherine and Theo had seen when they travelled to 2007.

Theo had been at Azkaban to check the security that worked the night the Lestrange brothers broke free of Azkaban. They told him, that nothing out of the ordinary happened, there were just more rats than usual. Alex had asked Katherine to play a game Rune Riddles, the game that Katherine had brought back from 2007.

Alex surprised his mother with his knowledge of Runes and their meanings. This was the first time Katherine felt a common similarity with her children. Bekah was a daddy's girl, Lisa enjoyed Quidditch just like Theo did. Alex enjoyed logical games and brain training games like Katherine did.

"Anubis," Alex said "the answer is Anubis,"

"How do you know that?" Katherine asked

"Guardian of the scales, fate of souls light as a feather, meaning the Egyptian God Anubis, he has those scales, he weighs the souls, to decide if they shall pass," Katherine smiled at him

"You're so bright for your age," Katherine said

"I should be you taught me how to play," Alex told her, Katherine smiled at him.

Katherine heard Lisa and Bekah jumping around the sofa in the living room, Theo had an obstacle course for them to bounce around. Katherine sat down for a moment to look over the reports again, she and Theo missed the obvious.

Cygnus Black III was Pollux Black's son. Katherine tried to get the children ready to go to Grimmauld Place, while they usually behaved when it came to listening to Katherine. They were more resistant to leaving Nott Manor, Lisa and Bekah through a tantrum while Alex was hiding somewhere in the walls.

"We have to go it's for mummy's work," Katherine

"No I want to stay at home!" Lisa shouted

"Right, I don't have time for this, now get your things and march," Katherine raised her voice at them, the children stopped arguing with her slowly leaving the room to grab their cloaks.

Katherine didn't want to have to raise her voice at them. However, with them being so close to figuring everything out they Katherine could wait till Theo came home. Katherine guided the children through the floo network to Grimmauld Place.

At Grimmauld Place,

The children wandered around still moping from having to leave their house. Ginny attempted to cheer them up by letting them bake cupcakes with her. Katherine gazed at the Black Family Tapestry she looked for the names Cygnus Black III and Pollux Black.

Katherine found Cygnus Black III, he was the father of Bellatrix Lestrange, Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy. Although Andromeda Tonks had been disowned by the family, she probably wouldn't know much of her father's death. Katherine's best option was to talk to Narcissa Malfoy.

Katherine had left a note for Theo to meet her at Grimmauld Place. Once he arrived at Grimmauld Place, Katherine showed him the Black family tree, showing him that Cygnus Black III is Draco Malfoy's grandfather. Theo suggested it would be a good idea to talk to Narcissa hoping she could offer them some insight.

"What are you hoping Narcissa Malfoy could tell you?" Harry asked

"I don't know anything she could truthfully," Katherine said, "I know, my cousin is good friends with Draco I'm hoping that he'll help,"

"Rory's your cousin?" Theo questioned

"You call her Rory?" Katherine asked folding her arms

"Yeah, she was friends with all us Slytherin's you name it, myself, Blaise, Draco a little too much, Daphne and even Pansy," Theo told

"She'll definitely help you then won't she?" Harry said

Katherine nodded, she didn't get along with her sister Louisa or her cousin Aurora, only her cousin Jessica though she didn't see her often she got along with Jessica the best. Aurora might have helped Theo but not Katherine.
