Chapter 38

Malfoy Manor, 20th February 2000

Katherine knew that talking to Narcissa was her best bet, at figuring out the possible items that Bellatrix may have turned into a Horcrux. Being sisters Narcissa should know what kind of Black family heirlooms the warrior may have turned in Horcruxes.

The children ran towards Malfoy Manor, she tried to keep up but her anxiety about the Malfoys weighed too deeply. At least when Theo was with her it eased some of her worries. She knocked on the door, to her surprise her cousin Aurora opened the door, in nothing but a white buttoned shirt, that clearly wasn't her own.

"I didn't expect to see you standing there," Aurora questioned, her make-up was smudged and hair all tangled

"Really, Draco?" Katherine said

"Really, Theo?" Aurora said, crossing her arms over her chest

"Nevermind, I'm here to see Malfoy,"

"Which one?" she questioned

"Narcissa, is she here?" Katherine asked, she pushed opened the door fully, Katherine had to quickly close her eyes, and cover the children's eyes, as Draco was walking around with nothing but his underwear on.

"Oh for god's sake, could you put something on," Katherine said,

"In my own house," he said, Aurora flicked her eyes to the stairs,

"My mother is in the sitting room," Draco told her not to take his eyes away from Aurora

"Okay," she said, "come on kids," she whispered guiding them away.

Katherine walked the children through to the sitting room as she heard Aurora's laugh echo through the manor, she just could see what she saw in Draco Malfoy. Then again many people couldn't see what she saw in Theo, there was no doubting they were related.

They both dated someone nobody expected them to be with, Katherine shyly sat in a chair hoping that Narcissa would take her time, so she could calm her nerves. Katherine's mind raced as the strong and confident posture of Narcissa Malfoy, caused her to reach her hand behind her, though he wasn't there to comfort her.

"Draco you needed to speak with me?" she said,

"Erm, yes," she gathered her thought, "I spoke with your cousin Sirius he thinks you could help me?" Narcissa sat on the sofa opposite her

"Continue,"

"I met with a seer, who looked into my mind when I was abducted, this might sound really crazy," she took a deep breath unsure of how Narcissa would react to this news.

"She said that the Warrior, the person who's been causing all the bad things that have been happening, she said it's your sister Bellatrix,".

Katherine didn't know if she should be frightened or concern as Narcissa didn't utter a word, she brought her hand up to her mouth hiding her smile, though she couldn't contain her laughter. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat as the Malfoy lady laughed.

"That is crazy, my sister is dead, I was there when she was buried,"

"I know it sounds insane-

"You come into my home, with silly allegations, can you prove it's Bella, how do you know the seer didn't lie, you can't see what she sees,"

"I don't I just trust-

"I've trusted many people in my life, it took me longer than I care to admit for who I should have put my trust, unless you have proof I'm done talk to you," Katherine put her head down, Narcissa stood from her seat, walking towards the living door to show her out.

"Please Mrs Malfoy, Aimee Burke said you'd help," Narcissa facial expressions softened

"Find me proof, then I'll help, give Theo my love," Katherine nodded, Lisa and Bekah held Katherine's hands as the family left the Malfoy Manor.

The family arrived back home. Even if Katherine found it strange to call Nott Manor home without Theo. The Nott family house-elf Darvi have cooked dinner for the children and Katherine though she barely touched her food, though she ate as much as she could, not wanting to insult the elf.

She lounged on the sofa as the children had finally settled down for the night they knew something was wrong with Theo not being around. She tried searching for the book again she knew that Nott Manor had many secret hiding places.

From what articles had been in the Daily Prophet. The home was raided back in 1992 along with many other families. However, the ministry found nothing, even though the Nott Family were known to have collected many dark objects and artefacts over the years.

Katherine rested her head on the arm of the sofa, she hoped to get some rest, sleeping in a bed as big as Theo's felt strange when she was alone. Some nights the children wouldn't join her leaving her alone, she pulled a thin blanket over her drifting off to sleep.

At 4:00 in the morning, Katherine had tossed and turned throughout the night, sleeping on the sofa wasn't the most comfortable solution, but it defeated sleeping alone. She turned around to having her back to the room, just as she closed her eyes she heard a noise.

She flicked her eyes open listing as it could have been one of the children waking up for the bathroom when the noise seemed to come from the back door. Katherine grabbed her wand from the table, she slowly stood from the sofa hiding behind a wall.

Katherine gripped her fingers around the wand, preparing a spell to fire at the intruder while she didn't intend to injure them. She decided to lift the victim in the air, she took a deep breath 'Ascendio!' she cast, the intruder was cast into the air, he gasped as he landed on the floor, she hurried over to see who was trespassing on the grounds of Nott Manor.
