14 November 1999, Parkinson Manor

Theo had asked for Pansy's help in keeping him and Katherine safe, which meant he had to tell her about the children. Although he was rather surprised Blaise and Draco hadn't already mentioned something to her, but she never brought it up.

Theo was cautious, around Pansy as she admitted that Carden had been acting really weird since his sister Rhea was attacked. The paranoia of never been certain of anything had begun to drive a wedge between Katherine and Theo many nights they had a huge argument.

Luckily the children were never around to hear them, Theo couldn't pinpoint the Warrior's next move. The details in the book were changing too much to make a plan or action. Theo and Katherine agreed to keep the book a secret only they knew of the book, no one else, not even Harry.

Katherine thought she would talk to a few people to see if she could find any lead on Peter Pettigrew after Phoebe had seen him. She decided the best place start would be with his old friends, they knew him better than anyone, Katherine just hoped Phoebe could convince them to talk to her.

"Theo," she said, he grunted, while looking over some case files, "I'm going to check out a lead on Pettigrew, I'm taking the children with me,"

"Yeah alright," he said, not bothering to turn around, she sighed, taking Lisa and Bekah's hands while Alex followed behind.

At Godric's Hollow,

Katherine and the children arrived in a small town, a quiet little place, Katherine was positive she had the right place. Phoebe was supposed to meet her there, Katherine and the children wandered around looking at all the cosy cottage-style homes. 'This would be a great place to raise children' she thought.

"Kat!" Phoebe shouted, waving from the door of a cottage just on the corner of a street.

"We didn't expect you so soon," she said, hurrying Katherine and the children inside,

"You remember my mum and dad right?" Phoebe said, gestured to Aimee and Sirius Black.

"Yes, I remember you Professor Lupin," Katherine smiled at her most favourite Professor

"Professor?" Lisa questioned, a red-haired lady crouched down to the three children

"Would you like some pumpkin pasties, I just made a batch," she smiled at them

"Can we mummy?" Katherine nodded, the three children hurried away with the woman.

"Pheebs said you wanted to talk about Wormtail?" Sirius questioned

"Yes, I was trying to identify a wizard that my son Alex heard," she was surprised neither of them questioned her having a son who was 7 years old.

"I asked Phoebe for her help, she identified his as Peter Pettigrew, but according to Ministry Records he's dead,"

"That's what we believed, though I have to admit he's got a way of making people believe he's dead," another wizard with messy hair and rounded glasses spoke.

"Miss Parker we wish we could be more help, but I'm afraid, we know just as much as you do," Lupin told her, Katherine nodded her head, tears welled up in her eyes.

"If you'll excuse, I'm just going to step outside," she said, as soon as she shut the door behind her tears flooded her eyes pouring down her cheeks,

"Hey, are you alright?" Aimee said, closing the door behind her.

"I'm fine, just a little stressed,"

"I'm all ears if you need someone to vent to," she said, Katherine took a deep breath.

"I just feel like we're getting nowhere, whenever we come close it turns out to be a dead end. If that wasn't bad, I have no idea what I'm doing as a mother, I'm just kind of going with it and god their father can be so irritating at times, he wouldn't even say bye to us properly today, and now Peter Pettigrew is a dead end too-

"Alright," Aimee embraced the young witch, seeing that she needed a hug, "if it helps you feel any better, Sirius and I just went with it too, when I got pregnant with Rhea and Pheobe,"

"That's the thing though, I've never been pregnant, I don't have that bond with them,"

"You might not have an instant maternal bond, how you do you think adoptive parents feel they don't go through a pregnancy to feel a bond with their children, I might not have carried my niece and nephews, but I raised them as though they were my own,"

"Yeah, I suppose you're right,"

"Family is what you make it, whether it be a large brood of children or a home filled with dogs," Aimee told her, Katherine felt comforted by her words. Confident enough to confront Theo about his behaviour over the last week.

"Thank you, I think that's what I needed to hear," Katherine smiled at her,

"I hope something makes sense soon," Aimee said, "we'll be sure to inform you if we come into contact with Peter,"

Back at Parkinson Manor,

With Theo attitude and rude manner lately, Katherine felt as though she had to tiptoe around him, to avoid an argument. Once the children were in bed, Katherine laid on the sofa, not wanting to sleep with Theo at all, she felt as though he didn't how exhausted she were and just expected her to be fine.

"Parker," Pansy spoke, "Theo left this for you," she handed Katherine a letter.

Kat,

I understand that we've both been under a lot of stress, I shouldn't take it out on you. While you were out gathering information on Pettigrew, Harry called the Lestrange brothers have been sighted. I went to go help him find them, I'll be back when I can, I left the book under Lisa's blanket. I hope to be back soon.

Theo.
